The great thing is with these I4 1.6 liter engines together with a turbocharger is when you need power it's there and there are times when you don't need it, like driving at a constant speed on a freeway. We're only using boost when accelerating, at a constant speed we might as well be getting mpg equal to a non-S Mini Cooper.

Hm..not very sure but after getting stage 3 DNA tune, my freaking foot got heavier for some reason

I can't tell how much more but it's just fun driving now. I can only imagine it has to be more than horses.

To fellow DNA tune enthusiastic , i promise i will take it easy on heavy foot. I promise to increase my MPG to 27-28. Oh the hell with that!!! I bought this car for a reason..Motor ON!!!

drive around town with two kids in the back AC set to 68. It was pretty hot here in Southern Cal yesterday and today. When i press the gas pedal, the little one get happy. Off course not speeding. Stop and go traffic but with heavy foot. Can't help it..when my son see car moving, he said go and when he feels the car move..he said "WOAH"...makes my day!

Wow, I'm not sure where everyone is located. And maybe this is because of how severe the winter is. But since I installed my DP and Tune, my gas mileage has gone up! And there have been more than a few full throttle spirited runs

Ok so I've been living with the Battle/DNA tune for a few days and I must say, I LIKE IT!!!

I had been running a custom dyno AP tune and had lots of power but the car just ran like ****... bouncy idle, studdery power up top, exhaust overload... even with a custom dyno tune it just still sucked...

I had tons of boost.. maybe too much... so I did sacrifice a bit of power to run a Stage2 DNA tune, but its so so so much better. None of the above problems and it pulls strong all the way to the top.

I've been testing both a Linear and non-linear map and can't decide which I like better... starting to lean towards the Linear, power all the way up is nice.

Now I just need to move up to Stage3... just gotta convince the wife first

Great customer service and product thanks BattleTuning!

so after dyno, my car including the stock map was rich on the upper end of the rpm. Sent dyno to battle/dna. Got a new map within a day. Now i need to go back to get redyno.

Once redyno i will post all relevant information on here. For now..the map seems to be really good. my butt dyno felt more power now on the high end. I just need to wait for dyno to prove it.

for me, i tried couple including stock stage 3, linear, etc...my favorite right now is linear simi stock throttle. Love it.

So I have mine installed and had a chance to drive the car some. By the seat of the pants if doesn't feel as aggressive as the AP. I think that is all because it works properly. Good smooth idle and now the car pulls to red line. The tone of the car changed. It sounds a little meaner but you don't hear the turbo spool like before. I haven't looked at any data so I have no real idea what's really going on.

I'm not having the spark knock issues that I was having or the shudder feeling in higher RPMs.

I have the stage 3 tune but still need to put my DP on the car. Over all I'm pretty happy.

Are you using a linear map? The non-linear map has the power delivery of the AP but much smoother and power all the way to redline.

They both have much smoother power delivery. By no means am I complaining. This is far superior. And as of right now I'm not 100% correct due to not having my DP installed. It will only get better.

Anyone know if the stage 2 non-linear and linear maps make the same hp and torque? I know the delivery is much different, but for example if you were to go to a drag strip would the non-linear be better?

To me it's about the area under the map, the non-linear would be faster in a straight line. Folks may go for the linear stuff out of personal preference and/or if they were tracking the car and didn't want to have to drive around the turbo hit down low.

Agreed. The linear map is unquestionably slower. Useable power is a function of the area under the curve (unless you only drive at 5k-6k RPM).

Hard to know because this is all butt dyno conjectures. Someone needs to dyno and show what the two are capable of. I haven't felt much difference between the two, it's just how the power is delivered that is most different, but to say one is questionably slower than the other is a bit farfetched until proven...

I've figured out my issue has zero to do with the tune. My car is only boosting to 10 psi. So now I have to hunt down that issue. The dealer did some warranty work this past weekend and I have a feeling it has to do with the intercooler inlet or exit.

I recently was able to finally upload stage1 (i demoded with intent to sell the car, sold all my parts and ended up keeping the car so I will be stage 3 before to long ) Right away john sent the software, and within a day I had my first tune file. The device wasnt uploading the file, i tried a few things then reset the device.... which did not help and actually reset everything requiring them to write me another tune.. Which he promptly did. Second file I was having the same issues, tried and tried countless emails were sent at which every last one of them was promptly replied to. I ended up trying another computer, had the same problem again, they sent me another tune file before I had even given up trying the second and that file finally went through! I do not blame battles file what so ever, i believe it was just how the program was downloaded onto my computer and my avg blocking a few things in the file. Had to be around 100 emails, customer service was absolutely fantastic and he was never frustrated with me - I never would have blaimed him for getting extremely mad at me lol as he did write me 3 files...

Now that I have had a short drive, butt dyno is very impressed super smooth power comes in hard and low falls off a little as did stock map but it is surely more *****'y I am yet to try the aggressive linear map he sent along with it. Im one who likes to redline the cooper so I may enjoy that one equally.

A++ For the tune and even more impressed with the service. Im more then excited to get into more power.

Well, new corrected stage three..corrected based on my dyno curve and throttle sensitivity requirements, is in and I am in canyon carving heaven....feels like a new car and the response from the 1000cc motorcycle that was trying to keep up with me in the corners up at GMR on Sunday...."Wow, your cars was pulling away from me" and I was..torque and HP working seamlessly and giving my mini the instant response that I require..this is truly a custom tune that I am beyond satisfied with. Much thanks to John at Battle for all his expertise in getting it dialed to the Wet Hen characteristics that I have required..if you are contemplating this tune...don't, go in and let John at Battle know what you want, ask and ye shall receive..thanks for the info on the BFG Rivals as well....grip is astonishing and eye opening to say the least!

I'm currently going through the same thing. Service is great. But this is becoming frustrating very quickly.

If you have a Mac, install virtual box and install window XP or whatever flavor of windows u like. I use my XP virtual machine to load my map. Also I used it to do programing using ncs expert.

Virtual box is free compare to parallel or VM ware fusion.
