Tyrolsport Shift Rx for 2010+ R56: Who wants them?

This i a bit of a call to arms for the Mini community for those that own 2010+ Minis and want the Tyrolsport Shift Rx short shifter. Apparently, while they have the design changes made to make it fit with the newer vehicles, they aren't seeing enough demand to warrant a production run. Personally, I'd much prefer this type of short shifter over the shift rod extensions that are more common.

The cost would be a little higher than the one that is available now for 2007-2009 vehicles, putting it at around $250. They are looking for at least 25 people to commit before they will do a run of these shifters. Personally, I'm in, but me, myself and I are not enough.

Show your support here, and maybe we can get some of these shifters made.

Disclosure: I have absolutely no ties to Tyrolsport. I just want one of their products

What makes this $250 part better than my $50 Helix SSK?

Unless you're the one installing it, not having to drop the exhaust would be why you wouldn't want to pay $50 and get this for $250.

But I still think nothing beats the Craven SSK

Didn't do my own work and still installed + cost for (much) less than $250 (not installed). What makes this SSK so golden?

I have one on my 07. My buddy and I installed it in the driveway in about 2hrs, its set on 40%. All I have to compare it to is stock, but it went from churning butter to feeling like a sport ratchet shifter. I have a friend at work with a 07 335i and he is jealous of how it feels and shifts!

My wife was having a super hard time shifting smooth with the car stock, but after the Tyrolsport ssk she was shifting much smoother, and 2nd to 3rd is fast and easy for her now. I don't feel like it made the car harder to shift at all. I drive in town all the time, in stop and go traffic it's not an issue. It has more feel and feedback, giving it the ratchet feel.

I don't know if it would be any better than the other style of ssk, but I liked the idea of changing things on the transmission side of the shifter rather than the extender, I also felt like 20% was not going to be enough of a change from the stock butter churn.

height and throw adjustable. with any other ssk you can't adjust it for your needs from day to day. some days I dont like the notchy feel, and other days I do. with craven's you can tailor it to how you want, whenever you want while these other so-called ssks sets it and if you dont like it, you're stuck with it.

If you have it at it's lowest setting you will feel the notchy throw. You'll have to try one to know how it feels.
