Picture of map sensor?

Hey guys, does anyone have a closeup picture of the map sensor? It should be located on the inlet tube before the throttle body. I'm trying to get a little leg work done before my 2008 MCS arrives.

Thanks,

Terry

Not sure exactly what you want to see, but this illustration shows placement...
it's number 5...

...hope that helps.

That's the TMAP sensor. The other MAP sensor is in the intake manifold itself, #10 on the below picture.

Ryan is right, I posted the location of the TMAP(which reads air temp and pressure)but for some reason the illustration doesn't even show up on realoem. This one is from my ETK,
I enlarged it a little bit that's why it's blurry...as Ryan said, it's number 10...

I have a feeling the two MAP sensors are used for different things. One is probably used for the boost controller and the other [or both] used for the BOV operation. I would enjoy teasing both signals, seeing how the ECU uses them! I'm sure UNIchip already has a solid understanding of them, but it's also their job!

Yup the unichip is at the least using one of them(most likely both) to allow for more boost...

PS. I only see 3 wires there, are you sure it is a temperature-map sensor? Appears to be map only.

What does the ATP boost source adaptor do?
http://www.jscspeed.com/mini_r56/int...p_vacblock.htm

It's an adapter for boost tap for a gauge.

Thats the map sensor from the intake manifold not the tmap from the intercooler tube. If you're just looking for the tmap sensor when you get the car just open the hood and you will clearly see it in the left.

Ahhh, thanks! I have a lot to learn with these cars. I wish mine would get here so I could start taking it apart.

No, the tmap, used to compute air density.

Thanks,

Thanks it!! Thanks!

Looks like its different than the 335i. I guess since I'm already being a total pita I'll ask one more question. Does anyone know the numbering/letters on the sensor?

I'll check tomorrow if you still need it by then. What are you planning Split Second?

I didn't ment you were split second... just that if you were planning on buying a turbo tuner from split second and having them customize it to the r56

Number 6 is just a bolt, 5 is the sensor.
