Help!! Shifter Issues (Updated new pics)

Yesterday my car got stuck in gear when I tried to pull out of a parking spot. I heard a small pop when I tried to engage reverse and then my shifter went limp. It only moves back and forth(very easily). It has no side-to-side movement. I figured the shift cable broke off, but upon taking everything apart ,both cables are still secured in place. I think it might be a bad cable that broke internally, but still don't understand why I can't move the shifter side-to-side. I'm about to make a trip to the dealer for parts and wanted to know if I should just get a cable or is there another part that causing the issues I'm having? Need to know dealer closes in 2 hours. Thanks

Here are is the video from under the car with the cable I think is causing the issue.

This video is from inside the car

Since you have clear access to the top of the tranny, can you shift it by hand without the cables attached? Just pop them off ahe ***** on the shift levers and see if they will shift properly by hand. If they do it's cable related if not it's internal.

I'll have to check it when I get back. I suspect it is the cable and it has to be special ordered and won't be in until Wednesday.
Sucks because this is my only car right now, so I'll have to shell out for a rental until it's fixed.

So, I finally got the job done last night. It's was an internal break in the cable. Took some pics of old and new cable. Has this happened to anyone else, seems like an odd place for this part to fail.
