Can a 2004 Getrag 6-speed manual with Quaife LSD be fitted into a 2005 MCS without causing any shifting problems?

I have done this conversion on my 2005 MCS Turbo (a variant of the Fireballed! Widowmaker) based on research, but cannot shift into reverse. All froward gears work fine.

While in the '04, the LSD tranny shifted fine in all gears.

Any suggestions, advice, insight, etc. would be much welcomed.

 

I just installed an '06 getrag into my '03 MCS without any shifting problems.

Since I changed final drive ratios it did require updating the ECU.

 

I cant see any other reason than the tranny it self that it wouldn't shift. same units, different gearing, unless theres a binding in the cables

Thank you both for your inputs and suggestions. I got it working.

The short shifter has an adjustment ball on the stem which had come loose, and interfered with movement of shift lever. Hard to diagnose, but easy fix.
