Anyone have a tune for catless downpipe but stock exhaust?

I have Riss Racing DP and don't really want the car to be loud or smell bad. Seems like that DP and stock exhaust would be perfect, except I don't have a tune for it.

All I found was GA008 not h910B maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

There is nothing better for tuning N14 engines.

I beg to differ really. If you drove my MINI you'd realize the AP was inferior....I had the AP and I don't have to deal with idle issues, boost cuts, or lack of support. I know first hand what the AP was capable of, and I'm glad I sold my unit...

I am more than pleased with the performance of the out-of-production, not dead, AP. My 40,000 miles of stage 4 240 HP/290 lb-ft trouble free performance says that the AP has a proven history of continuing top performance!
I have no boost-cut, no idle issues and always had first-rate support, when needed during the initial release. After the first few months after initial I never required any support.

I've been in your MINI before and I know what it is like. You can gain more than what the AP offers though. So I'm sure you're happy, but your engine has more potential with what you have.

Yes, and I have more performance in alternate tunes. We intentionally dialed it down because when you boost more, and/or generate output above what I'm producing, longevity suffers - pistons in these things often don't survive with the 265hp/305 lb-ft I had generated.

My TT RS is my crazy boost/high-output machine because the lower end was engineered to live at extreme boost and output. Not the MINI!

Hey, if you're happy then that's fine. I just know the AP isn't and won't be resurrected by Cobb/Perrin/Alta. It keeps floating hands on here like sloppy seconds.

Battle/DNA.

I don't even have to speak for it when others already know how great it is...

JZW has a laptop based tune as well as the Powergate tuner available for $600 and you get a custom tune in addition to the OTS maps on the tuner.

I keep getting P0141, P27C4. P2A56, P2A7F, P0136, P2068, P0136, P2068, SINCE INSTALLING my DP. They come on regardless of the OE FLASH or the "Stock" flash that i have on my AP. Any ideas?

What stage are you running? Based on your sig, I would assume that Stage 1 FMIC would be appropriate. I think that Stage 2 or 3 require a high flow cat or catless DP.
Have you tried the different throttle maps, to see if the smoke is different on them?

Mike
Good morning Mike,

I was cleaning up some old emails/posts and noticed that this one I kept for a reason. Well here is a small update on my situation.

In October of 2013 I decided to replace the plugs, small price via ECS Tuning. They were installed and the world was all puppies and rainbows. Then shortly after the smoking started again. In early November I performed the intake valve cleaning on my own (7 hours later and pristine valves) to see if that would remedy the smoking. Nope. Again in November I received the campaign notice from Mini about my timing chain/tensioner. In December Winnie received her complete overhaul on the timing chain side of the engine. Dealer stated the chain was very stretched which put the car out of time - cam gears were not completely in sync (interesting). The work was completed in a couple days and wow what a difference in sound. The engine was so quite. Long story short, this was my smoking gun - if you will.

(Unrelated story but a fun read) Two weeks after I get the Mini back from the dealer the car sputters hard at WOT in 2nd through 6th gear. I am thinking HPFP. She leaves me on the side of the road with 2 OBD codes, they're both automatic trans codes. I have a manual. So that was little help. Take it back to the dealer, the plugs I installed were defective (less than 3300 miles on them). While I had ordered the exact plug number from NGK (minus the wording "MINI" on them) that came with the car, the insulator on inside broke and slid down the electrode causing the engine to not fire on #4 cylinder. $226 later the mighty Mini is back on the road. Running great, no smoking, nothing! Pic attached

Oh, and NGK reimburse me for the entire thing. That was a very honourable thing for them to do. They are very stand up people.

this fault code list is actually for gen one but i suspect most of them are still accurate but may not have all the new ones.

p0141, p0136 are o2 sensor faults.

That sentence is so impressively douchey sounding. I can't even read it without my nose up and a royal british accent.

At any rate, for $5-600 bucks used, I still love my access port. I've retuned it twice, and will get to retune it a third time if I add more mods. ZERO issues and I can have fun applying different tunes. No complaints here!

Need some help if anyone has had this same experience. One of the pins in my AP has broken off and so now it can't be read. I'm stuck now and can't uninstall it when it is time to go to the dealer for service. Don't want to lose my warranty coverage :(

Contact Alta. They can put you in touch with Cobb for a repair.

Glad it's working out. Do you mind me asking what the estimated cost is?

Well total cost was zero because I didn't need to send it in. There is actually one missing pin on the AP which is normal. Apparantly I had the connector on backwards (clip in front) and that's why it wouldn't communicate with my ECU. I have now taped it so this will not happen again. Since the AP is discontinued I don't think there will be updates on the AP Manager software.

I suspect you're not the only one who has put the wire in backward. As a matter of fact, I know you're not the only one.
