Drivetrain RMW REMOTE TUNING FOR R56 testing next week
Man, I don't understand it... I reset my average mpg Saturday morning, I spent all day Saturday and till 3pm Sunday flogging the car at the track and it was still over 25 mpg.
I've got another track day coming up in Nov. I'll check it again. (though this is a different car)
Not quite sure why you bought a JCW, you seemed to have everything and more already on your R56
Seriously, congrats, I don't know why but I assure you there is a difference.... definitely worth the extra money. Just wait until Jan does a tune, it'll be even better than your R56 numbers.
How much, if you don't mind, and where? Beyond that, I'm sure you wouldn't forget to report every little detail back to us once you get it installed and tuned. There's just no way you wouldn't jump right on NAM and tell us, right?
Jan,
Will this tune produce more consistent levels of boost? I’ve noticed that on my ’09 R56 that the regular boost level at WOT hovers around 8 psi, and it will sometimes go up to 10 psi if I slam the pedal to the floor, which is probably the overboost. The problem is that the overboost doesn’t always kick in and it is very unpredictable. I'm hoping your tune allows getting peak boost a lot less “touchy” and easier. To me, it shouldn’t be this hard to get double digit boost numbers. I must also be a victim of the later ECUs that don’t permit higher boost. It’s just really frustrating when I'm trying to get my car moving and it’s hit or miss with my boost levels :-\

I didn't bought the jcw car, just the turbo!

I will let you all know about the results of the Jcw turbo in my R56. In fact I decided to do it because my R56 turbo has the wastegate damage or thats what I think!

+1 on this question....
It's either all or nothing it seems sometimes.

Also looking for some updates on the remote tune, it would be really helpful right now to be able to flash back to stock for diag reasons. Just haven't been able to find time to do datalogging.
Iv sold the car. I have an R53 JCW now. The R56 became a joke. Its untunable, noone wanted to push to get things done and the thing constantly blew up or went wrong when it wasn't sounding like a tractor. See you guys on the 1st Gen sectiom when you see the light.
Well...enjoy you're 53...its a very different animal. I do still miss mine sometimes....but let me tell you, you're going to miss having torque
.

I'm still waiting on more upgrades to become available too. But if I wanted easy I would have bought a GTI or some Civic SI and looked like every other joe blow that drives those. Even though we are slow at getting options out, the MINI is Different and that is what makes it that much more fun to have. My 2 cents. Oh yes I am awaiting this remote tune also.
