Drivetrain RMW REMOTE TUNING FOR R56 testing next week
They have a dyno, and they have been in business for ages (well, more like 15 years or so). They are right next to my office, actually. They have built some pretty amazing cars (especially their turbo Clio Sports).
I talked to them, and they'll send me some dyno sheets next week. Even better, they offered to test my car - and it'll be pretty interesting, considering we are at 8,300 ft of altitude. They seem pretty serious about their stuff. If I like what I see, I'll just have them tune my car... Jan's idea is excellent, but the price is quite a bit higher than I expected... and having these guys next door (with a dyno!) brings some peace of mind.
Oh, and their tune is $550 or so
That's even better!

That's even better! My tune was 700 bucks. It was 500 for the tune and 100 per hour use of the dyno. It should have taken less than an hour. (that would have made it 600 bucks which is right about with your 550).
We had a few problems doing mine (boost tube blew off twice...blah, blah, blah) so I was on the dyno for 2 hours.
One word of advise. Even if they can tune it (meaning they have the software to do it (which I doubt....that's why it took so long for us R56 guys to get a tune) I would take my car to someone who specializes in that particular car.
I took a supercharged 306 in a miata to a buddy of mine who tunes fords.. he's EXCELLENT at his job, however, my car was at his dyno for 8 months. He wasn't use to the software, and it took him way too long.
I personally would stick with someone like Jan who knows those cars inside and out.
My .02 worth...

That's even better! Not a bad price, but I would take them up on the offer to 'test' your car. What are they going to charge for the testing?
Is this just a baseline dyno of power at your altitude?
OC has a point, find out what they use to adjust the maps of the MINI R56 and flash the ecu? It is not simple.
After watching Jan at work, it is not simple.
I drove from Charlotte, NC to Tampa, FL last weekend running for the most 85-90.
I averaged 28.6 miles to the gallon. Having said that, if I run 85'ish and quit playing in traffic, downshifting, etc, etc, I can match my 70-75 mph mileage.
If I drive 70-75, my mileage will average 30-32mpg.
Driving 55-60, I can get 34-36 mpg.
Well worth the tune.
Mark
I average about 29 mpg....mixed, city/highway.
Can easily get into the 30's on the highway like Orangecrush said.
I drive "spirited" quite often too.
Love it....in my R53 I was lucky if I got 22 on the HIGHWAY, driving conservatively.

I only get 7 to 8 mpg on the track!
different tools are being made
excellent.... thanks
talk to Ian about spring rates for the track
we tested some Cross at Miller
F* Riss Racing... They copied the RPI scoops and when confronted they acted like little punks...
Jan. How long do you think till it will be ready then?
I have a factory 210 turbo going on my standard S and need a tune to run it to prevent a lean mixture so you tune would be handy. Is it worth waiting for yours or is it going to be a long time?
Cheers
