Drivetrain Project X-300
I don't know a whole lot about the intricate parts of complex projects such as X-300. However, judging from guys like AZMCS who can run high boost (in the 20s I think I read), wouldn't you need to do some internal work to the motor?...such as rods/pistons, or something like that? How much boost can the stock internals take? Or is this system designed for people who won't have to rebuild the motor??

the stock rods have taken 500whp. Pistons are the only issue if you are running above 20psi or have a bad tune. We have been beating on this with stock pistons for over 2500 miles , I know longboard is trying to break it and so far... NO luck!
Its going to be designed for just a bolt on and tune crowd.
I plan on doing a simple kit for the Cooper crowd also!
Not yet, we are still working out the last part of the kit. Once done I will start on the cooper
Then a whole new thread will start
I might be tempting fate here but Adam from MiniMania UK Opcon supercharged Cooper S might be heading for our dyno Tue or Wed and hitting the strip next weekend at http://www.miniinthepark.co.uk/

what kills me the most reading NAM is this:
people think because you have more power that you will run faster times
M/T 24.5x8 Slicks / Nitrous 60ft 1.75 12.165 @ 113.95
FTR with 513whp runs 11.98
Pauls car has 200 less whp yet ran almost the same time... you can make all the excuses you want but the facts remain
knowing how to drive matters

andways cant wait to see the finished product
mph / weight = horsepower ET= how efficent you use the hp
Thats why we've hired the tech comittee and the corner scalesfor this Sunday at www.miniinthepark.co.uk so we can see who has the most hp with an M45 and we're giving a prize of $2 for every hp calculated as a prize.
Lots more fun than a rolling road day

but this is the truest measure of a well built machine. Dyno numbers only tell half of the story. Many people claim that dyno procedures are wrong or swayed or miscalibrated etc... the 1/4 mile is the 1/4. As paul says... respect is 1320 feet away. Everything else is just an excuse. when the flag drops the ******** stops...
We are wiring in a piggy back today to start the low end tuning phase. Then the high boost dyno tuning. We expect to have it controlled with actual software on the final production phase. The s/c that is on there I doubt will make 300whp but I would expect somewhere around the 300bhp range. The next phase after this one will be the bigger charger that was used on different applications. I will keep you informed of our progress
