Nothing, the floor weighs enough where it doesn't move.

I have the Race-Deck flooring, so I can only speak about that. But to answer your question, no it doesn't lift up at all. I don't know about the BigFoot flooring, but the one I have is just be too heavy to lift up like that. I have the trim around mine which serves almost like a little ramp to the flooring. So I guess this also would keep it from flying up.

thanks gus. i would imagine the floor gets very heavy when they are
locked together as one huge piece. i'll give it a shot.

looks like im just going to do white (off-white) and gray. gregsmith
contacted me and they said they have them in-stock ready to ship...
so probably 160pcs each and have some extra's to play around with.

my garage's lower part where the car parks is 340sq ft, so Bigfoot
being 13x13, i would need 304pieces minimum... so going to do
160pcs each color.

i was thinking about doing red borders but considering my mobile carts
are red, i'll use those as accents in the "room."

I have the black race deck tiles/borders, when the sun heats it up, it does warp and lifts up. Once it cools, it goes back to normal.

i guess my last question is how big the shipment is going to be...

is 320 tiles going to be a pretty big pallet sized shipment (ie 20-30 boxes)?
how do these things ship usually?

I had 288 pieces. My flooring came in 6 boxes (with 48 tiles in each). Each box weighed about 45 lbs. The trim strips came in a separate smaller box. Add the trim strips to that and you're talking almost 300 lbs on the floor.....now you can see why it won't move once you lay it down. In each box they attach 4 tiles to each other to make a bigger square, so in each box there are 12 of these "tiles". Each box was about 2' X 2' X 8" (approx.). So it's not THAT big a shipment, but I'm sure your UPS guy will still hate you.

thanks for the info. the size isn't bad at all... its about the size and
weight of a wheelset package for larger cars. (well, if you bought
1.5 set of wheels).

gregsmith came back and told me that each box has about 30 tiles
(not sure why it's not 30 tiles and "about" 30 tiles ) and 35lbs
each...so 10 boxes (350lbs). not bad.

i was at the dealer last week getting my MCS serviced for warranty work
and test drove the new R56. i picked up a catalog to decorate
the backwall for some refresh.

i know, white balance is off, but kinda gives a warm feel.

Diamond Plate mouldings?

Is this "old news" in this thread? My friend sent it to me a few days ago. I thought it was cool despite the lack of a true red for the demo.

yes, there's more! www.diamondlifegear.com

I just read all 32 pages, and now I'm inspired to do something with my garage.

Stay tuned...

sounds good. make sure to take before picts too.

and no, i have not ordered the tiles yet...

the more i think about it i think my walls should be finished before
putting down the tiles.

but if i do get the walls finished this means i will need to find a
warehouse/garage to store my babies for a couple of weeks...which
is another pita. this is wat is ultimately holding the project.

i wonder how my garage will look with the unfinished side walls. i
really dont want to finish the walls yet due to the max space and
function i can get from these unfinished walls. im planning to go
down to 1 weekend car when i get the 335i coupe in a few years,
but until then i want to keep both my G and MCS in there. and
both having large doors i need max space.

I definitely will. I don't know if you remember, but you coached me through my first aftermarket suspension setup on my G35 a couple years ago. Good to find you here as well, as I'll need all the advice I can get on the garage setup.

Gladiator Garage works

Hey, noticed several of you have gladiator garage works. How do you like them? Thought they might be better than building anything in with constanst military moves. Would be nice to be able to take it with me when I move every three years.

gus- any recent upgrades to your garage?

yah, unfortunately i have not hit the execute button on the tiles yet.
i was very close but i think my walls need to be finished before doing
the tiles. so it might be some time. i'll contemplate more, i suppose.

What do you have to do to the walls? Drywall?

Oh and nothing new in the garage except this.........
