Update on garage. Got all the walls closed up today so all the insulation and drywall is done. Still have insulation to do up in the space directly above garage and tape and jointing. Still trying to decide what to do on the back wall. Those shelves look bad but we are not able to purchase a full set of cabinets do to not in the budget. Can probably start with one cabinet or a bottom box or workbench or......you get the picture! Was thinking about this (which is on clearance sale at Sears for $99.00) but I think we will not be able to match it later. It was on Sears website but looks like they took it off today. I know the local Sears store has 1 left. Anyway here is a couple of new pics. Any comments or suggestions are always appreciated.

I have E-bayed but never have Craigslisted! Have not heard good things about it but I should know you only hear the bad stuff. Maybe Ill take a look. Thanks

Wifey and I are going to take a run to Sears and see if they have a deal on that cabinet though. Might be worth it.

My wonderful wife and I went to Sears today to see about that cabinet. While we were looking we saw a good deal on a 2 drawer workbench in either wood top or galvanized. When the kid checked the computer he said he had 1 of either and showed 2 of the cabinets but he wanted to check the warehouse to make sure. He came back and said he didn't have any of them! My wife asked him if we could buy the workbench on display. He said no but the manager said he would do it for only $119.00. The sample was already assembled and as you can see 1/2 on the top is wood and the other 1/2 galvanized. We didn't get the cabinet that we went for but came home with this. The 1st photo is the workbench and the second is after I wiped it down and Hydro'ed it. Also did a quick wash and Hydro to my MCS. Much more to do but pretty productive weekend I think. I owe the wife big time.

yah, attics can get REAL hot up there. im sure you already know, but watchout for spiders. turn on a light and leave it on for 5min or so before you go in.

not too many plans for my garage this summer, but i
do want to paint the water stainage i got from an
earlier roof leak this year. looks like my ceiling
wet its pants.

at least it's not sagging like it dropped something into
its diaper.

Yeah, did some of the tape and spackle thing. Not much to show but I did pick up that tall Ultimate Garage Cabinet for a steal at Sears. Had to drive pretty far to get it but it was worth it. The thing sells everywhere for $400+ and we got it for $99.00 minus another 10%. Have to put it together still. I should wait to after I paint but I want to make sure there is no unseen damage and all the parts are there. It's the last one around for that price! Going to try to do some work tonight. Also the wife's oil change is due so I have to work that in.

More PICS soon I hope!

Well here the progress this weekend. Friday night put the LARGE cabinet together. Saturday primed all walls and ceiling. And Sunday painted all the walls and the ceiling and put up the checkered border. Also last week my wife scored the demo Ultimate Garage 2 door hanging wall cabinet to match the big one and she got it for only $45 after discount. It was in pretty good shape too. Pics on the cabinets when I get them installed. Here are a couple of pics on progress so far. And one of my dog watching. If she could only paint.

I used Premier Garage. Good stuff. Lifetime warranty. Even transferable to the next owner when I eventually sell my home.

Nice! Is the garage flooring epoxy and how does it compare in price to tiles like Racedeck?

Def pricier than Racedeck. Cost will obviously depend on how much square footage you're covering. I was on the verge of going that route b/c of the ability to DIY and the infinte combinations possible as far as design. The only thing that turned me off was how dingy it could get after getting dirty.

I believe Premier has 2 options: traditional epoxy and a polymer floor. I chose the latter b/c it's supposedly more durable and has the lifetime warranty (as opposed to only 5 years with the epoxy).

Hmmmm... my racedeck floor is two+ years old and it still looks very much like it did the day it came out of the box.

Maybe after 10 years it will look "dingy" but so will a painted/epoxy floor.

And I thought you were going to give me a hard time about borrowing you wall boarder! But I have always admired your garage.

LOL. Yeah, the boiler and water softener are huge eyesores. No more garage modding for now. Already spent a mini fortune on the floor and paint. Next up is changing out the crappy cabinetry the prior owners put in.

Just basing this on the very few floors I've seen in person. Maybe they were just slobs and didn't clean their garages very often

I'm betting that's the case.

I sweep mine out every week and mop it at least once a month. I posted a pic about a year ago and it was due for a mopping and told people not to look at how dirty it was. I got laughed at someone told me it was cleaner than their kitchen floor.

Like most nice things, you have to take care of them to keep them nice.
