Detailing ideas for your garage
My dad had a really good experience with a two-part epoxy. I'll try to get the name of the stuff. The kit included sand that was mixed into the epoxy for grip and some acid etch. He used the acid to prep the garage (it was newly poured concrete, so he didn't have dropped oil to clean up). Then mixed the epoxy and sand and rollered it on. Made for a great garage floor. Years ago I saw the same thing done, but instead of sand, they used iron filings. It was the only concrete floor that would rust after rains.
anyone know of an inexpensive retailer for the corrugated open type of tiles?
please don't just google one. i could do that. i'm looking for people who found it for less than $2 a tile and had a good experience. (if there's such a thing)
thx

With spring around the corner I am looking to make some changes. Floor is the first thing I will be doing and since my floor isnt too level epoxy will have to do.
I am thinking that a nice flat panel tv on the wall might be cool? Who has a tv in there garage?

Yeah, it was only stored. However I'm planning on putting/mounting my old 42" Plasma into the garage.
ok, before you say something, it is an old POS, and changes through the colors after 5 minutes... might be enough though to watch old black&white racing movies
, till it finally dies.As for the size of this man-cave ... 220 sft :D
Here's mine...the White Roof Radio/AMVIV VI banner is blocking a storage unit (looks much better now!). The COOPER S emblem on the tool chest came from the car. I stuck the letters on adhesive-backed magnetic strip and then cut them down. I think they look pretty good on the tool box

Hey Everyone, Been chomping at the bit to get the garage project moving. Last couple of weeks have been spent getting anything non car related out of there and into the shed. Ran a couple outlets on there own circuit before closing up the wall. We picked up some drywall and insulation this week and jumped in full bore today. Insulated and hung 4 sheets today and after that took another run to Home Depot to get some materials to run central air and heat in there. I am pretty excited it worked out!
Sorry about the no pics but I didn't think to take them till after the MINI was tucked in and it was already dark. And can't figure on how to get them to show up here!
Were still looking for a bench/table/toolbox or maybe just another bottom box. Any input on pro's of having a bench/table? As you can't see it's only an attached one car garage so space is at a premium. We are planning on getting the wife snow tires and wheels so I'll have to account for storing a total of 8 tires/wheels also. The bottom shelf will have to go also and longer term plan is to get everything in cabinets for a more clean look. Also planning to due the floor later and have seen some awesome examples in this thread. Some of your garages are simply amazing!
We have a Donor Dash tomorrow in Philly so I might not get to much done but would like to get the walls closed up before the weekend is over. Also we do not have a set paint scheme in mind but we are working on it. Still have taping and joint compound which I hate.
I'll try to get pics up soon.

A 10 lb. 2 1/2" (over two feet long) combination wrench.

I think every man should have one of these wrenches, if for no other reason than to make
your wives happy about being right. I can't leave a hardware store without buying a new tool.
Marguerite always says, "You're never going to use that." Well, I haven't bought a tool yet
that I haven't ended up needing and using within a year's time. So, this wrench serves as her vindication.
It hangs proudly on the wall and I can't imagine I will every find a use for a 2 1/2" combination wrench.

moto- you need to clean those front wheels on the MINI.
nice garage.
dogdal- you might want to consider getting a wall mount
foldable work bench in your case. griot's have them.
they're not sturdy like a real workbench, but it will work
for most smaller projects.
the bench will just fold
away when not in use.

A little paint, signs purchased on Ebay, and cabinets from IKEA...easy.
Getting the family to put our junk elsewhere...HARD.
