Detailing ideas for your garage
even if you just get a nice tool case and tools to fill it up with, that
is a HUGE step forward when working on cars.
i love the
facom stuff griot's sell. makes my work go so much faster, smoother,
and more fun.

were sold earlier this fall to one of my buddies that races civics
locally in scca. he couldn't find replacements for 16x7.5's and waited
patiently (like 4months) for me to sell those to him.
if i decide to keep my MCS longer than another year i will probably get
a set of RGII's for him but most-likely not.

it took me three days to read through all of these posts and it has been trying at times but very beneficial at other times. i will post up some before pictures this weekend and then work my way on to the afters in the next few months. i have a little bit of work to do. i just bought the house and there was some old termite damage in the corner of the garage i'll have to replace and redrywall. i'll paint the walls and epoxy the floors. the tiles are just too expensive for me. i think the silica floor for a rougher surface should be fine for me. other than that there are some metal cabinets and molding to do. possibly a new door as well.
What kind of flooring are you talking about ?
Garage flooring is pretty easy, DIY stuff. So, if I may ask, why only looking for flooring companies in Canada ? (and no, I don't know of any)

Very cool. Let me know when you get them and how you like them. My Sears jack was recalled and not sure I am happy with the new one.

I can travel to the States in Buffalo but some far out companies and I'll get smoked on customs.
jeff- im thinking about getting the ramps in April cause that's about when
my MCS is due for an oil change.
sorry to hear about your hydraulic.
hope the new one is better.
i spent acouple hundred bucks the last week on tools... new facom ratchet,
close quarter drill, special extractors, etc. after the ramps im going to
probably get the SK offset ratchet and also combination with ratchet +
flex head. i have combination ratchets but no flex head...and last week
when i was working on my FitS's coilovers, it would've been very handy.

The only replacement they had was a 4 ton jack and it isn't aluminum so it weights a ton. Not too happy with it but it is a low profile and is safe. I am done with sears and will go elsewhere for tools.

I stocked up at Sears last weekend. 2 jackstands, 1 low profile jack, one stool, 154pc toolset and 1 torque wrench. They were out of creepers so that stays on the list.
Oh, I also got finally a garage door opener installed and the rubber lip/seal repaired. Now the interior will get attacked

thought i would ask the other garage aficionados about cleaning.
I have the Rustolem Professional Garage Coating http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=14
Its 2 part solvent based not the water based stuff they sell at home depot.
In my eagerness to have a cool garage, I used Tile red, really cool color, pain in the *** to keep clean. Everything shows up on this floor, dust, dirt and because we live in a very hard water area you can see where water has evaporated.
To prevent this I did a super pressure wash, squeegeed the surface and towel dried before applying the clear coat, using lots of anti skid.
Problem still there, so I spray out my garage once a week and it looks go for 2 days then the water spots show up.
Anyone got any good ideas for scrubbing and cleaning products? The most i have used is simple green or dawn dish soap.
Other than the color choice the flooring is awesome, i spilled muriatic acid on the floor and did not know until about 4 days since it was in the corner. Lucky i painted up the side of the wall so that the garage could hold water if needed
no marks nothing.
In hind site i would not do the clear coat, even with the bags and bags of anti skid its still slick, before the clear coat you could run accross the floor wet and stop instantly. Good thing the clear coat wears off after 10 years
