I did not really mind the feel of the OEM steering wheel, but as I said, it was worn through the "skin" right where I hold the wheel most of the time. The rough places were driving me nuts, but with 90k+miles, it lasted pretty well.
The Wheelskin fits very well, the stitching closed it right up, no gap where it comes together. It adds some girth to the wheel, but I like that, and the leather is very gripy. I does take some time to install, about an hour, and I found it best to cover everything in the cockpit with a big towel, as the lasing kept getting caught on *****, shifter, seat belts, etc.

The other thing I've found you have to watch out for when lacing up your wheelskin (I've done if 4 or 5 times now): The adhesive for the "rolled" edge sometimes flakes out in little chunks as you work. If you're not aware of this, it can rattle down into the bottom of the open section of skin and end up as little lumps under the finish skin - which is insanely annoying, princess and pea like...
So I make sure that, before I lace up the bottom half of the wheel, I start the car, turn the wheel 180 degrees, and clean out any gunk that may have accumulated in there (and make SURE it's all out) - then lace it up and be cautious not to flake off more adhesive.

Here's a partial frontal.

Another:

This was my second skin - a dark blue perfed one. First was a Charcoal gray smooth. I didn't really like the color of either. Now I'm running a black smooth and it's pretty and comfy.
This increases the diameter of the wheel to about the same "fatness" as the JCW wheel - and I love it.

i'd get your IR thermometer out and measure the surface temp
before you freeze something on there.
they're pretty cheap. like $50 at smarthome.com
only down side is the thermometer needs to be in the ambient
temp you're measuring in for about 30min to get accurate readings.
so i just leave mine in the garage.

so griot's is re-introducing their 3" mini random orbital...
wat do you guys think? due to the 2 electric product failures
ive had the last 10months from them (air compressor, heat gun),
i think im going to pass again...they appear not to have any
experise in electronic products.
prove me wrong?
(i even feel lucky that my griots
RO even works correctly)
