Must be winter, quiet here
I'm having new stripes put on at AMVIV. Before then I will need to remove the old ones and then polish. Probably won't wax until after the stripes are on. Mike put my first set of stripes on at MITM 1 and I had Zaino on, he just used alcohol to remove it, but I would feel better to have the MINI just polished and not waxed to avoid any adhesion issues. It will be funny to see the MINI without stripes. Like the first set of photos after bringing her home from the dealer.
Any tips or trick to getting the old stripes off? Planned on using a hair dryer and a slow pull, but they have been on for almost two years now.

i used a IR heat lamp to get my outmotoring stripes off. worked like a charm.
just dont get it too hot cause it will stretch more than come off.
i think im going to go without stripes on my car from now on.
every time i go in my garage, i like the simple smooth look of my car.

Well as far as bonnet stripes go that is

If somehow a bunch of us here from this forum get together for a weekend of detailing, I'm not sure much detailing would get done, as rolling on the floor laughing may break out every time we say/do anything

yah, we'll make fun of each of our own moves. wats with the toung, OG?

ken, wats with the winking at the car all the time?
im not winking. my eyes are just dry. sure... sure.... you're just winking at your reflection
waaat?
One way I have cleaned the underside of the MINIs is with a sprinkler set up under them, start at one end and every 5 minutes or so move it along under the car, works great
As this is going on you can be cleaning up other stuff, or sit back and enjoy your beverage of choice

Kenchan, I was up in your area of woods last weekend. The wind chill was like minus 20; what heck was that about???!!
There were only two types of rides I saw: very dirty and very clean. It was obvious who the detailing nuts were.

yah, last weekend was very cold...
actually yesterday was colder but we got so use to it -8F ambient
-30F wasn't as cold as it use to be.
when temps get above freezing...

hey moocher- so how did the detailing sesson go today?
why is it that when R53 wears the crown spokes it looks so good?
anyway, car looks nice, moocher!
So I'm taking advantage of 50f, QDing both MINIs, and they both had white dust on them, well on their boots, no where else. I'm thinking it was salt dust, not from us out motoring, but from the street at the end of the driveway. We do live at a fairly busy intersection. So I washed the boots off, then DQed the rest of them.
They spread salt here about 5 days ago, for what amounted to no snow, and some very light drizzle
