Happy ending!! I took my poor stained PW/B MCS to MINI of St. Louis. Matt and Steve looked at it and tried a few things but couldn't budge the stains. They sent me to Dennis at the BMW Collision Center who was able to figure it out. He said they were probably stains from uncured concrete. I remember going under the I-40 - I-170 flying overpass construction on a wet day last week. I probably got hit then. They worked on it with a buffer and some solutions that I didn't ask about. All gone! Thank you Matt, Steve, Dennis and Lotsie.

Wow! I wonder what they used/did. Is there still a clearcoat in the area of the stain then?
last week we were talking about those windup flashlights. well today i was
out running errands and found them at Walgreens for $4.99 each. so got
2 more.
Rats! I just bought another one for the wife at Target for $9 ! Mine must be better quality ...

My guess is they used a rotary machine, not a random orbital, with an abrasive leveling compound.
When Mike got here, shortly after they got the stains of/out of the clear coat, it looked normal. Cleaned off the door, applied AIO and Clear Seal and it looked like the rest of the car. I'm sure if you measured it with one of those paint thickness devices the clear coat would be thinner than normal. Just have to keep extra protection on the area.
actually i found a soldered coin lithium ion battery. 3.6v probably
10mA or something at best, but i wasn't expecting lithium ion cause they
are pretty expensive. if the unit was sold at Walgreens for $4.99
regular price, that means:
~$2.65 at distributor in US.
~$1.75 at US port
~$1.55 at China port
~$1.50 at factory
if you break that down, it's got 3 LED's, multi-function sw,
lithium battery, numerous hand soldered resistors and a capacitor
on PCB, 9 screws, 2housing pieces, 2 rubber housing pieces,
gearbox (5-6 gears), motor, lens, paint, crank, full color packaging
with vacuum pack.

Refreshing... Yeah, Baby !! It was 62 degrees when I left work yesterday and even though it was dark, it was very comfy. So, Yeahhhhh Baby, Dr Evil let his top down and we had a nice ride home !! It's been a while since I smelled that fresh Maryland farm air.
Growing up surrounded by dairy farms, I do love that scent of fresh cow manure ! Of course, we had a chicken farm about a mile away and when the wind blew from that direction... UGH !!!
Funny how I will eat more chicken than beef, after knowing how their poop smells differ so much. :impatient
