More than that. It is Christmas. I went surfing on Christmas day rather than driving. Love that water.

got my griot's tire pressure gauge this morning. wow, this thing
looks great, and the case is awesome.

the bleeder valve is kinda iffy feeling (has some play), but otherwise
a quality product. i was surpried how big the display is... it's at least 20%
larger than my mechanical racing tire pressure gauge. will
give it a shot tonight on my MCS.

That looks cool!

The one I had in mind though was the MINI map light with the flexible neck. (Couldn't find a picture on line, but it is in the MINI catalogs.)

Yeah the case is the reason I would have bought it from Griots---I paid the same from Autosport and got a crappy little envelope case, lol. My bleeder valve was ok though. I'm sure you will be happy with it once you've tried it. It's worlds better than any pressure gauge I've ever used.

I got my flashlights today, lol. I ended up buying the Garrity Power Lite 3 LED Crank Light (Titanium Silver/Black) which is essentially the same as you had but with a focusing lens and slightly more powerful batteries.

Then after ordering it, I discovered this one from Duracell and kind of wished I had ordered it instead since it has a built in radio and USB charger to charge your cell phone.

^^ huh, that's pretty cool. that's something we should all have in our
emergency kits at home. one of my windup flash lights has a am/fm
radio and i placed that in our home emergency bag. that USB charger
on your link is mighty nice.

tried out the Griot's pressure gauge. mmmmmmmmmm.... very nice fitting.
i like the fact that the fitting is deep so you dont have to aim. just align
and push gently against the valve. the display is HUGE.

i like it.

That no-need-to-aim aspect is sounding very attractive. I might very well get one of these too. I currently have the Accutire gauge ...

Thanks for the "review"

Too coarse?

What batteries does it use?

Yep, that's one of the main reasons that I got it. I had the Accutire gauge and it's a night and day improvement over it.

Yes, you will actually find pleasure in checking the air pressure now, lol.

mine has a lot of play. the bleeder on my mechanical racing gauge is solid.

i think it uses lithium batteries. i'd keep it inside during the cold months
if your garage is not heated. mine's at 40F the last couple of weeks but
keep all battery powered tools inside.

one LED per side.

Thanks kenchan, bought the last pair from Sears yesterday. Can't wait until I need to use them. (walkin around in the garage with no lights on doesn't count ).

So are all the crank up lights created equal? or are some better than others?

The crank up lights seem to vary by number of LEDs, number of battery cells to hold a charge, whether the light produces a soft diffused or focused beam, and additional features like USB port for charging your cell phone.

I ended up with the Garrity because of the focused beam and larger battery capacity than the Illuminator. The Duracell one is larger but packed with more features. Could be handy if you are stuck in the mountains with a dead car battery and cell phone only a few hours of life left. So many people have been found by tracing the cell phone signal..but could only work if you had power lol. My cell phone lasts at most 6 hours so this could be useful. =)

Btw i also read that the Garrity takes less cranks to charge the batteries because each crank puts out more power but there is the risk of burning out a bulb if you turn the crank with the single LED bulb on and potentially to overcharge the batteries. A crank up light with a battery volt meter would be ideal and cheap to implement but have yet to see such a feature.

Where did you get yours? I saw a 3 bulb at Sears when I picked up the goggles for $10. Seemed pretty cheap, but maybe they all are.

i was over at target running an errand with the family and stopped by
the flashlight section. they had some cheezo version of the same thing,
but a whoppin $12.99 and $15.99 for the one with radio.

these should be $10 or under for the flashlight-only version.

cool, you got one! they are absolutely excellent. carrying a
pen light to do stereo/accessories installs is now in the past.

last week i installed an exhaust at 5am in total darkness using that
work glasses. you'll find yourself using it all the time.

Oh man, I gotta get this tire gauge.

I might have to wait a while as my wife caught me washing my Monster Fluffies---she gave me that look ("your car towels are better than the ones I use after a bath!")

I have 8 Monster Fluffies and I told my SO that if I loved her as much as I loved the MINIs, I'd sew them together and she'd have the world's softest and luxurious bath towel.

I think I'm going to be single quite a while longer.

I may just have to do that sewing and earn enough brownie points to get the tire gauge.

Man, you're a cunning linguist with the babes. And smooth, too...
