Just visiting Chicago for the week, and headed to Gurnee Mills yesterday arvo. Spotted heaps of MINIs on the road on the way there and back. Also spotted a LY MCSC at Kenosha with the plates 'MINIAC'.

 

Beautiful top down weather in Chicagoland I even took a spin up-and-down the Ravines early this morning.. sort of brought back some Dragon memories .. until I saw the cop

• AB/B MC on Arlington Hts Rd near Algonquin Rd @ 11:30am.. I think you saw me going the other way.. didn't get a chance to wave
• AB/W MC near Golf Rd/294 @ 11:45am
• IB/IB MCS? parked in front of Pier 1 in GV @ 1:30pm... didn't see the owner
• CB/B MCC in Target lot in GV @1:30pm... Waving frantically!!! Thanks for the wave!!!

 

Spotted a Red Bull Mini northbound on Harlem Ave in Oak Park about 1:30 this afternoon.

 

BRG Classic Mini, Four Rally lights, 9:15am, Island Lake, I got an odd look when I waved.

 

You caught me shifting if you be the MINI peeling out of Westridge this morning. Catch my Eastway wave? Are you the black we see parked on Westridge Drive?

 

before getting into my Spottings.. which btw was quite a few ... a little court room trivia... Did You Know... in Cook County, if you're selected to sit on a Grand Jury as a juror, you have to return for 4 weeks ???

Fortunately for me.. I was excused Top down motoring today from 26th & CA to LSD, up Sheridan back home

• BEP/B MC at the Lake county Forest Preserve in Libertyville while scouting for new running locations.

 

It's been a few days, but saw the following within that time.

Parked next to me in the parking lot of the International Terminal at O'Hare Today.

AB/B or JB/B MCS with the number "4" on the bonnet and doors. Interesting though, the front grill was painted Yellow.

• PS/B about 17:30 (I was in a rental but still waved)

Then after picking Pearl up,

• PS/B-Sheridan in Haywood, no wave, but was looking away
• IB MCS in a driveway, LIVES right next to the ravines, how do you not spend all your time drving up and down the block?
• HB going south on 41, and as soon I finished waving I checked my rearveiw mirror and behind me headed north was a
• CR MC Cabrio that waved as they turned off onto Dundee
• LY/B MCS on 53 between 12 and Palatine
• and then about 21:45 I spotted a MINI of some sort headed north on Rt12 just north of Old McHenry Road

 

:impatient Nobody ever spots me . I should have selected some kewl WHEELS instead of the Invisibility Package, back in November of '04.

If anyone sees a crazy read head in a PW MC convertible with the top down today, that's me. Dealer gave me a loaner for the weekend, and having never had a convertible, i'm definately going to enjoy toplessness, cold weather or not!!!

And I got to meet the owner of a new MCS Cabrio while stopping by Knauz.

 

I just found this forum... I just thought I'd say hi since it's possible some of you have spotted us! We have a 2004 black/black Mini S with the JCW kit, and my husband and I live in Rogers Park near Pratt and Clark. I commute to Oak Brook every day via Devon and I-294. Having the extra oomph has definitely saved my butt from some semis on the tollway.

The only problems we've had with the car (other than people hitting me) is a noisy power steering column, and a lot of flat tires from foolishly driving down Pothole Road, I mean,Touhy too often.

My husband has taken our Mini to the track and he did very well against his friend's Ferrari! We bought our car at Patrick, and they've been good to us, although I wish they had loaners at the service area.
