Don't know if this counts...

Spotted:
  • the courtesy car from Patrick MINI - CB/B MCC on Golf Rd near 294 around 9am. You were either waving to me.. or yelling at the knucklehead in front of you

We did once we got around that moat that's being dug around the city. I don't think there's one highway around Chicago that isn't under construction.

No kidding Over/Under/Around... When we went home after MTTS-Indy, we got stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic at 10pm it added an extra hour to the ride home. And we didn't even go through downtown!!! Hope you got to see some of the sights while passing through CHGO!!!

I didn't get home till after midnight! You'd think that IDOT could have picked some other week to close all but ONE lane. But no, they have to do it during Labor Day week!! After I went through the troll booth I lost sight of you.

2006 Blue MCS with white roof and white bonets. Gas Station on the corner of County route 6 and Cassopolis in Elkhart today. Stopped and spoke with her about her car. Was bought from D&R. She wants to do a MINICCI/ D&R Drive some time. She said that she would like to start a local club or a South Bend area chapter of MINICCI.

Got two today!

#1
A 2005/2006 MCS PS/PS with Indiana tags Westbound on I-94 around 115th street. I believe its Mini Motoring ID was 2com12, but was hard to read because of the lighting conditions. We exchanged waves and slogged side by side through traffic until she headed South on I-57.

#2
A B/W MC headed Southbound on Ridgeland in Oak Park as I was pulling up in front of my house. Exchanged waves.

It is rare that someone in OP returns a wave.

O'Dark this morning a MCS sitting at Frontenac/IL34 in Aurora. Did a blind wave and got a headlight flash when it turned behind me. Also looked to have the bike rack attached to the boot.

Reading this thread has convinced me that my permanent departure from Chicago back in '87 was an IQ enhancing life decision. I think the traffic up there has everyone's brain in a state of suspended reality, or more specifically has lead to a permanent lack of imagination wherein watching for other Mini Coopers becomes the only quality of life measurment for most of Chicago's denizens. Must be from breathing all the exhaust fumes while sitting on the Eisenhower watching the gas guage needle slowly descending towards E all the while knowing that no matter how many horse power under the hood, a Chicago cop on a live horse could beat you in the quarter mile.

Hey, the day I was there a Chicago cop could have beat us in the quarter mile on a tricycle.

This is very true, and I generally work my shecdule to stay off peak, it has worked wonders for years now, at least traffic here is semi-predictable unlike FL where I only had warning of the NASCAR race was in town so the advice was simply don't drive.
