We'll have to rename the entire thread to www.minimatch.com with this line of information.

I hope you get lost in the maze...

Took delivery of my two classic Minis on Thursday and drove around all weekend. Awesome! Can't keep up with the sightings, but, was a littls disappointed in the lack of waves from other Cooper owners. Took three days to get the first wave. Thanks to the Red MC on 41 South Saturday around 2pm. Everyone is waving-except Coopers in Chicago??? Hummers, Mercedes, Beemers, women and children. Best of all was the first night, when a 100K+ Porsche pulled up next to me and gave me the thumbs up and told ME I had a nice car!!

I have two Black Classic Minis with Power Webasto Sunroofs. Anyone seen me running around??

It really is a sad state of affairs.

I notice a HUGE difference in waves once I'm out of the North Shore. The minute I get West of Route 31 and into more rural areas the Mini sightings are an EVENT and everyone waves. Even downtown it's better than were I live.

I figure the non-wavers either 1) got the Mini for the wrong reasons, or 2) simply don't know there is a Mini community that transcends other cars. I hope for the latter but usually suspect the former. In either scenario, I guess, they wouldn't be reading this forum.

Driving with Dustin and Conrad last week to do the Starved Rock pre-run navigating we actually ran into another MCS in Plano and everyone STOPPED in the downtown square to exchange greetings and pleasantries. That's the way the world shoudl work.

I know what you mean Taylor. The North Shore isn't what I would call an enthusiasts haven. A lot of people driving around trying to look good in their nice cars and SUV's. Not exactly receptive to our waving. I guess they just don't know there's a MINI community out there. I've seen all kinds of non-wavers : mature, kids, adults... white, asian, male/female... I've seen them all.

I saw 3 MINIs today in Glenview. My daughter and I waved each time.. but no response. Deer in the headlights actually. After the second attempt, my daughter refused to look for anymore MINIs . She asked why don't they wave? I told her it doesn't matter because we're having fun regardless of their response. We spotted them, that's all that matters.

Just when I'm about to give up on waving... I run into a MINI who didn't wave before and they they actually wave back. I guess they finally figured it out after a while...

That's a great way to think. It is most definitely about having fun. And how sweet it is when you do get that wave returned.

I am certainly guilty of missing a few waves here and there but for the most part, if I see a MINI, I will throw a wave in their direction.

And for those who ignore waves on purpose, here's a big just for you.

Welcome Snow2pwc where do you roam?? If you frequent Golf Rd, that's where you'll spot me most of the time. Post pics so I'll know what to look for

BRG/W MC parked next to mine at work. Would you believe they parked a little too close to me.

Spotting Right Now!!
DS/W MCS with white bonnet stripes and driving lights parked in front of a McDonalds on 115th Street off of the Bishop Ford. I work right across the street.

That Mini was still parked there when I left work at 5:00 PM.

Alright which one of you was on Hintz and Wolf at like 4:45 this afternoon? Dark blue MCS black top, black rims, tinted with white writing on the front window, Skull and Cross bones flag off the antena? I was sitting right next to you while you where in the left turn lane.

That's MINI_Mark I think... did it say "DragonSlayer" on the window??? I'll bet that was him.

That was me... geez, i didn't even see you. Sure you didn't have the cloaking device on? Seriously tho, i was working on the worst commute of my life, 35 minutes to go 4 miles home... Lance Armstrong coulda beat me home!!!

Edited: oh, and if it was while we were at the line, there was a bus accross the way with some serious sun glare off the windshield, that could be why i didn't see you

Totally cool I just knew it was someone on here. I hate that road, lucky for me I work basically on the corner right there so I get to miss everything on hintz.

I am at Handi Foil on the corner of hintz and wolf, south west corner. Well actually on Chaddick and hintz which is one light west of wolf on hintz.

Edit: I just looked it up you work right next to me practically. What company are you at? One of my plants is right at the end of Marquardt going west.

Met a PS/B MC driver this morning in Downers Grove while getting breakfast, said he loved the car and has been driving it for 2 years only had to change the oil, told him about the club, hopefully he can make it out to an event soon.
