There aren't many of the AtlantaMINIs gang going, but we'll do our best to represent

Amy, don't you worry, you'll make friends fast at this event. As much as this is a beer event it's also one big social. You just have to be outgoing enough to strike up conversations with people, and the beer if the perfect topic to get that going.
And I encourage anyone flying solo to find one of the Brew Swap volunteers (they'll have badges) and introduce yourself. No doubt they'll know people and can make some introductions to make you feel at home.
There's been a slight change in plans for the Swap which had me freaked out this morning but now I'm calm and think everything is going to be ok. I had initially thought I was going to have a buttload of 8' long rectangular tables for you guys to use. The set up imagined was 4 people on one side of the table with their wares out for all to see. And the minglers coming up to the other side of the table sampling, trading etc.
Well, we don't have rectangular tables. Instead we have round tables. They're the big rounds, 4 feet across, that typically seat 8 people. So my plan is to have 5 people per table, making a semi-circle around half the table. That should still provide people with enough space to come up to you, mingle, sample and trade while still giving anyone who wants to sit a place to sit.
Accordingly I'm going to adjust the tables I've reserved for the groups to match 5 per table. And I'm also going to halt reserving any more for groups. So any of the groups that got it, you're good. Any others, get there at the same time so you can all group together.
Any questions, just post and I'll answer.
Reserved Tables:
5 tables reserved for M|U
2 tables reserved for GSM
3 tables reserved for SSM
2 tables reserved for DCMM
2 tables reserved for BGM
2 tables reserved for CMC
4 tables reserved for PSM

Actually I have found out the minimum is 36 shirts. And I sincerely doubt there is enough interest for another run. Sorry guys. We'll have something like this next year.
well, I'll be going solo, and it's my first year at the BS
Since ALL of the local breweries are currently *out of business* I picked up 12 bottles of Tire Bite Golden Ale... the most offbeat thing I could find locally... (the truth is I have No Idea how it tastes lol
)
So that should make for good ice breaking convo

I've been reserved for a while now, but I finallly got the load I'll be bringing. For whoever asked, I managed to find the last 6 pack of Pyramid HefeWeizen at my 3 local (big) retailers. I also have a couple of cases of various Two Brothers beers/ales/lambics from the Warrenville, IL brewery. I will be bringing their Domaine DuPage, Prarie Path Ale, Ebel's Weiss (all in 12 oz size) and some specialty brews in 22 oz bottles. Cane & Ebel Red Rye Ale, Northwind Imperial Stout, and Victor's Memoriale Altbier. I also scored 4 12.7 oz cork finished (think champagne splits) of their 10th Anniversary Cherry Lambic. I'm going to have to decide how to trade the big bottles and the lambic.
What I am most interested in trading for (shades of the original request) are Yuenglings Lord Chesterfield Ale and Black & Tan. I lived on the Philly Main Line for 11 years, and I developed a taste for them that can't be satisfied here in the midwest.

There should be Yuengling there, brought by a few people. I know Jim Dowdy is bringing Yuengling and I'm pretty sure at least one other person is. Not sure though if they're bringing the B&T and LC. I grew up in Philly and moved away in 1997. Last year I had a very nice couple bring me a case of Yuengling that I could bring back.
If you want someone to do that for you let me know ASAP and I'll see if I can put you in touch with someone.
Matt
Dude, you're my hero Alabama pretty much sucks when it comes to beer selection, but I'll keep an eye out for Yuenglings Lord Chesterfield Ale and Black & Tan

If I can't find anything (which is probable) what do you want for the Pyramid? (PM if you'd prefer)
Drillslinger is a gentleman, scholar and judge of fine beer. I look forward to meeting him at the dragon.
Mielnicki, I know the porter well, but it is an after dinner drink/digestif to me, and there aren't enough occasions to enjoy it. The B&T on the other hand has less heft and much of the flavor and stands up very well to stews and other heavy meals in the winter.
When the urge strikes, I usually make my own traditional B&T with Bass Ale and Guiness Stout. Half & Half is traditionally Harp Lager & Guiness Stout. There is a difference in the old country. There is also a cider/Guiness mix but I can't recall what it is called.

"So whether you call it a Black Velvet, or a Poor Man's Black Velvet, or a Snakebbite, or a Priest's Collar, I like 'em. And They knocked me on my a$$ last night. And this morning. So, ya know, that was pleasant."
I kinda like the Priest's collar, myself!
