Production Week 33 (August 14, 2006) Support Group
let me know what you find out. I think i will be calling ask-mini and my MA today to try and figure something out.
Katherine, i hope everything works out for you. Knowing Stella, she will be there before you know it!
She has been moving fast, must be excited about meeting you!

Thanks! I hope everything works out for you guys too. If your cars were at the docks when mine was, I don't see why it wouldn't make the next ship out. Hopefully ASK MINI will have some helpful information for you, and the WW site will update soon. Be sure to let us know what happens!

Hey Katherine. I don't know when your boat is scheduled to reach the port, but my MINI dealer told me to expect another 7 days of travel time from the port to the dealer (and that probably includes the installation of any dealer-installed accessories too).
Hey Arthurbang, thanks for the info. It's good to have an idea of the timeline. The Courage is expected to dock in NYC as of 8/28. I wonder if those 7 days includes time at the VDC and processing? As far as I know, I didn't get any options that will be installed at the VDC; just simple things like aux. input and bonnet stripes, really.
7 days sounds good to me
And I'm really disappointed (as are you guys) that there aren't more boats to the west coast. It sort of seems unbalanced/unfair, especially given what seems to be the high demand for MINIs in Cali.

Arthurbang, you were right on target - I just talked to my dealership and they said if the ship arrived at port on 8/28, the car should be at the dealership no later than the 9/4. That's exactly 7 days!
I think Wallenius carries tractors, BMWs, and who knows what else. I saw a large yacht ON the dock waiting to get loaded on Google Earth. It might not be how many ships go to the West Coast, but how may MINIs are on the ships that go there. Looking at the capacities of the ships, they list 6000 vehicles. Maybe they carry twice as many MINIs per load to California?
For everyone hoping to get on the Manon - should be good news that my MCSC was born on 8/20 and as of this AM is booked on the Manon - I've got to think that y'all already at the port heading to SC or NY would be on it as well. Good luck!
Greetings, fellow motorists.
TABASKO is on the Manon
I must've plugged in the VIN 600 times, and when it finally showed up as loaded, it jolted me.
It'll arrive in Charleston on 9/5/06 and should be in my driveway by 9/15/06.
Hope a lot of your cars will be shipmates.

Easy peasy! Just go to www.sailwx.info, go to the top where it says "Ship Tracker," and choose "Find ship by name or callsign." Then where it says "name," put in "Manon."

So far the last time the Manon reported in was August 10 - it may take a day or two after the Manon leaves Southampton for it to report again. They only report to this site when they're out to sea. But after that, you'll be able to plot it in the great Atlantic!

Haha, I'm so obsessive, I know - I just think that it feels so much better and makes the wait much more bearable if you feel like you have some sort of control, even if it's just knowing where the boat is! I'm very happy to help.
OMG... WHY is mine being left behind?!?!?!
This really blows... I mean me and Katherine had exactly the same production updates until she got on the Courage on the 18th. Mine STILL is not listed as being on a boat and it was finished the same time as Katherine... and now you guys are on the Manon?!?!? This is crazy! Are they just not updating my info or what?!!
Mini Mine, do you know if your car is going to the east coast or west coast? If it is going to the east coast i dont understand why it would not be on the Manon. My car was 1 day behind Katherine's and i got on the Manon. Perhaps you will be getting on the same ship as Minichik and have it transported from the west coast
I dont know im just guessing. I hope you find out something soon, keep us posted.

It's almost making me wonder if something happened to the car, like it was damaged or something and they are trying to fix it! I hope not, but it just seems weird to me that your info is updated and I was there before you... It's so typical... This kind of stuff ALWAYS happens to me!
:impatient
I'm going to call my MA at lunch time...
After i put in "Manon" for the ship name, it came up with a few text style boxes at the bottom and it said " (Plot) " in blue that i was able to click on. When i did it showed me a few red dots, then i zoomed out far enough so that i could see england and the east coast, and it showed me a line of red dots going from England to SC. and it had dates next to certain dots. Im assuming that the dates are where they predict they will be at that time? I dunno. But the line of dots that i saw didnt go anywhere near NY. Try looking up the Manon and click on plot and then zoom really far out and tell me what you think. Maybe the information is a past voyage?
I'm really sorry, mini-mine, that has to be really frustrating. I doubt something happened to the car - I'm willing to bet it's just the lineup, and maybe there are MINIs backed up waiting to get on boats. It is getting towards the end of 2006 production and I'm sure they're having to fulfill a lot of orders right now. Hopefully once you talk to your MA, you'll get some solid answers.
