I just called ASK MINI and they said that mine entered the paint shop too... It should be finished by the end of the day tomorrow! The paint shop apparently doesn't take long at all, and then it's off to assembly - which also doesn't take long. The guy I talked to said that the reason it was 'in the body shop' so long was because of the shut down. So basically, that means our completion dates were already adjusted to accomodate the shutdown, which explains why it was a little longer than most!

I honestly can't believe it will be finished tomorrow!! Hopefully it will get on the Courage leaving the 18th, then I'll get it mid-Sept

It looks like mine and krm4h's cars are buddies, lol... we have had the EXACT same timeline so far

Mini-mine, you just made my day! While I was happy to hear that my car would be "finished" tomorrow, I felt like I couldn't get but so excited just in case my timeline was wrong; but since you heard the same, and our timelines are, like you said, exactly the same, I'm sooo happy! Wow, it really is sort of surreal. Our babies will be "born" tomorrow! Hopefully we'll both make that boat!

Not so great news on our end. I spoke to (866) ASK MINI and was told that we have been relegated to a Week 34 Production which means we won't see our MINI until late September. So much for the Week 31 Production Week promised us by our MA.

Unfortunately it looks like next week (Week 34). I could never get anyone to tell me definitively that the factory was closed for the past two weeks which I gather was the case...

When I called ASK MINI and asked about the factory shutdown, I got a definitive answer - they were closed for the first 2 weeks in August and officially opened back up again yesterday.

It can get frustrating when you're told many different things. But so far it seems like the "weeks" aren't necessarily a fit for everyone - it sounds like people have different circumstances affecting their own individual production timelines.

I called ASK-MINI yesterday and was told the same thing about the factory. She couldn't tell me at what stage of production mine was in but she assured me that it would be finished by the end of the week. They'd been telling me my completion date was the 16th but on the automated message it says the 17th. Either way it's still this week. It would be nice to get on the Terrier and not have a wait at the docks.

The date they told you is probably right - my automated message kept saying 16th but the reps kept telling me 15th - finally, today, the automated message updated to say the 15th too.

Hmph. Who knows. Maybe it will change? If not, like you said, it's still this week

Hey all, my mini was one that was actually stuck in the paint shop during the plant shutdown. By Monday it had moved through production and was waiting for final inspection and as of yesterday (Tuesday) it is considered production complete. As of today it is now at the port awaiting a vessel, however no shipping information is currently available.

So yes once it gets to/through the paint shop, it cruises. Now we'll see if our minis ship out together and hope for a speedy delivery. Good luck to all on your tracking.

I just called ASK-MINI again. My car which supposedly started production on July 26th and was due to be completed on 8/17 is now going to start production on 8/17 and is due to be completed 8/31!!!! I don't understand this at all. Maybe I can understand the pushback for the start date but why is it taking 2 weeks to build? I e-mailed my MA and am waiting to hear. This is very frustraing.

That is good news! My car entered the paint shop Monday and when I called today they said it was still there, but I'm hoping they're behind a bit with their updating and that it's out by now. He said it should only be a day or two from here on out. I just hope Stella gets on one of the early boats! Maybe our cars can all be shipmates

That is REALLY frustrating. They didn't give you any explanation for the pushback when you called? I'd do a little more digging too. Hopefully your MA will have some good reasons why it happened.

psychedoc, you and I are in the same boat - my production supposedly started on 7/27 and was due 8/18 and is now delayed until 8/31. Seems like schedules for those that just missed getting underway are getting the worst of the factory shutdown. I tried to dig with ASK MINI and my MA without any luck - seems to just depend on who picks up the phone though.

I was told that by one helpful rep at ASK MINI that the "start production" label is a bit of a misnomer and that once physical construction begins that the process is about 7 to 8 days. It seems to me like the body shop may be down longer than the rest of the factory, allowing those past it to keep closer to schedule.

I feel your frustration!!!

I'm passing the time perusing accessories - seems the auto-up window chip, euro-parcel shelf and glovebox organizer are the favorite basic interior mods. I already ordered one of the seat coolers for my MCSC. Anyone have mods/accesories ready and waiting in the garage already?

I wish I could buy lots of goodies for Stella when she comes in - but I'm having to save every penny for my down payment to keep the monthly payments low!

Ah, being responsible...ain't it grand?

LOL, yeah I am in the same boat... I'm already freaking out at the thought of writing my first multi-thousand dollar cheque but I came up with a number and I'm sticking with it... I really wish I could afford another couple of thousand so I could get my monthly payment down to $299 a month - but that's REALLY pushing it! I will have to deal with $330-340ish. It's actually amazing how little your monthly payment goes down per $500 down... grrr...

In reference to completion times, I think ALL vehicles will take longer to produce now due to the smaller volume they are producing now... they also probably have some of the workers fixing up the 07 stuff...

I'm trying to save my pennies so after I sell my truck I WON'T have any payment and can write a check for it all.

I did call today and now the automated message says I'm in the paint shop. It still says the 17th so it will be interesting when it really does get finished. I would like to make the "Terrier" which leaves on the 18th but that may be cutting it too close. I wonder how long from factory to dock if there is no queue. Shouldn't be one because the factory has been closed.

I'm trying to keep my payments at around $300 too. I'm selling my car now; my parents are taking half to pay off their house (yay for them! ) and I'm taking the other half for a down payment. That combined with what I can save should be at least $6,000 - here's hoping!

Yeah, mine's supposedly still in the paint shop too - which is crap, because it's been in the paint shop for three days now! I just want to know when it's supposed to be finished and on a boat, because my estimated completion date was the 15th! Very frustrating
