Me, me! I just called ASK MINI and my estimated completion date is August 16th.

Oh, and I guess I should say what I'm getting:

2006 Mini Cooper
Hyper Blue/White
Bonnet stripes

Cold weather package
Premium package

Rear spoiler
Delta spokes
Aux input
Sport seats

Pretty basic, but good enough for me!

Prepare to be shunned by friends, family and coworkers as you will be unable to discuss anything other than your mini for the next month or two (Did you know my mini is in the paint shop? Now it's on a boat! Hey, it just crossed the 47th parallel! and so on)

I highly recommend checking out this thread on tracking your mini: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=70301

Lots of good stuff in there. Congrats on the new minis - I hope they get here soon!

Wow, I had no idea there were so many resources to help you track your MINI through the entire process. Thanks for the helpful thread redirection

I can only assume that I'll be in this week, but I don't know. I ordered mine from my local dealer on July 1st or 2nd. The other people who ordered when I did were produced in week 29 (so I've been hanging out over there). There has never been a date associated with its production, although the first time I spoke with ASK-MINI they told me that it would probably be late August, week 31-33. I called again last week and was told that they had "no idea" when it would go into production, or why it's taking this long. I just checked the owner's lounge and it hasn't been updated yet.

Krm4h - we have the same completion date!! I just called today and it said I had a scheduled completion date of August 16th also! So I guess that answers the question I just posted in MINI Talk about what my production week is!

Here are my details:

Chili Red w/ black roof and bonnet stripes

Anthracite interior
Black Leatherette
Auto AC
Sport Seats
Rear Fog
MFSW
15" 5-star rockets

I'm sooo excited my status finally changed!

Oh hooray! Yeah, I was so excited to hear that my status had changed too - but it was really quick, I just ordered mine on Friday night. I'm about to email the dealership to see who I can get in touch with to get more accurate details from here on out.

With your production number, ASK MINI is going to be your best bet. Just ask for Customer Relations when the automated system picks up. You'll get transferred to a real person and they can get the latest info for you.

I've been using their automated service so far, but maybe I should switch, especially if that's the best way to get the most accurate info. Are they pretty nice?

I just called and spoke to Tony at ASK-MINI. They said that there is still no assigned date, BUT that it looks like I would most likely be in Week 33 when the official build date is announced. They are still unable to answer my question about why it's taken over 2 weeks for mine, and I still have no production date, when others on here have ordered and received a date within a few days. Oh well. Hopefully the official date will be announced soon. He DID refer to Week 33 as "the end of August" though.

I definitely don't think my est. delivery date will be right then. When I ordered Friday my sales rep said at that point, they expected delivery to be Sept. 10th. But if my completed production date is Aug. 16th (or maybe even "the end of August,") Sept. 10th might be cutting it a bit close.

That's poopy that you had to wait 2 weeks for a production date - I wonder how for some, it's super quick? Maybe it's just chance.

I always ask if it has to do with what dealer you ordered from, and their allotments but the people at ASK-MINI don't seem to have an answer. I really have no idea why it's taken so long myself, but the wait is killing me (especially since I've watched everyone in the Week 29 group order AFTER I did and get their cars produced and on a boat already!)

I don't think I'll even take delivery until October. They told me that once it's produced, it takes 28 days "exactly" on a boat to get to CA. And that's if it actually makes it onto a boat right away. And then from the port to the dealer is another 7-10 days, and then there are some accessories that will be installed there.

Oh man, that's a long time.

I wonder how long it takes coming to the east coast? That's where I am.

I think East Coast is only like 2 weeks.

To address a few of the above questions: Different dealers get different production slots. I'm not sure exactly what that's based on, but some dealers will definitely take longer to get your mini scheduled for production than others. Typically east coast dealerships seem to get production slots much quicker than west coast dealers.

East coast delivery is MUCH faster than west coast. There are a few reasons for this, among them is that it's a much shorter distance (duh) and that there are 2 ports taking delivery on the east coast (NY and SC) versus just the 1 on the west coast.

I can't be sure, but they may be referring to Aug 16th as 'late' because there is a scheduled factory shutdown in August, presumably later in the month, although I really couldn't say for certain when it is aside from it being sometime in August.

Oh and krm4h - the people are ASK MINI are very nice and completely used to dealing with obsessive new mini purchasers who are looking for any scrap of information on their babies.

Oh that's good to know - I was afraid they'd think I was nuts, as much as I call the automated service! Perhaps I'll make the switch - I think I've already called three times today!

Arthurbang who is your dealer? I would suggest calling your MA because they can give you more specific information regarding your timing. I've spoke with someone at ASK MINI twice and both times they told me to call my MA because they know more then they do. So I did and my MA was able to give me some specifics. He also made a correction to my order. (I'm so glad I asked!)

It took me nearly 5 weeks to get my production number. It just depends on the dealer allotment and how far back in line you are. Currently I'm in the 9th week of waiting and it's killing me, but it'll be worth it in the end!

Is your MA your salesperson?

I just called ASK MINI and talked to Tony - production started yesterday, and completion got bumped up to the 15th!

I just got a response from my dealership's sales manager, she told me that tracking online and via ASK MINI was my best bet. Oh well!

That's weird. I've always heard that the Owner's Lounge is usually a week behind and that ASK MINI doesn't always have all the details of the order. My MA gave me the status code and the week that ASK MINI couldn't.

In fact, my order was missing the webspokes and when I asked ASK MINI about them they couldn't tell me whether or not they were there on the order. My MA checked and found they weren't on there and changed the order and faxed me the order sheet with the corrections.

Maybe different dealerships vary in how involved they are? I'm not really sure. For my purposes I think that ASK MINI should be fine.

My dealer is Long Beach Mini in So. Cal .. Overall I'm not that happy with the service so far, even though I was able to get them to add a center arm rest to the vehicle last week. They told me pretty much the same thing as Krm4h, that the ASK-MINI would be the most up to date information about the vehicle. Basically, the reason I've been disappointed so far is because they waited over a week to place the order for the car (I ordered early July, it was actually submitted on July 10th), then when I called them to see if the order was placed, they said it had been ordered the week before but ASK-MINI said they didn't receive it until the 10th. Then when I submitted the order, the build-your-own let me add the auxillary input AND Ipod adaptor. When I brought it in, they told me I couldn't have both and removed the input from the order. The next week I read online that it IS possible to get both, and in fact someone had gotten one FROM Long Beach with both things. Then it took about a week for them to call me back about the arm rest even though we went back in person to ask about it and the guy there told me that they'd call me later that day. Overall, I'm very excited about getting the car, but it's frustrating that it's so hard to get information on the production date when other people get it so quick.
