pqw5uQ3r, (it just rolls off the tongue), stick with the dark silver that's an excellent color! That would be one of my choices after the pepper white (saw it in person and fell in love).

krm4h, you aren't kidding about it not being too far away. One part of me wants it sooner but the other part of me keeps reminding me that I need to save a bit more money and get my truck sold! Yikes!

Thanks. My problem is I like all of the colors. I'm doing my best to stick with the Dark Silver. I hope the point of no return comes soon for me making changes to my MCS.

Today I was working on my truck, detailing it and cleaning it to get ready for sale. It's a dark silver and it's really a great color. It's dark so it has that richness but it also hides dirt and swirls. My first choice was DS but I kinda wanted something different. I thought about Royal Grey but when I saw it in person next to a pepper white it was no comparison for me. I'm not a white car kinda person but the PW was just so warm and classic looking I fell in love. I'm glad I did because that's the one decision I haven't given a second thought. You are gonna love your MINI no matter what color you get but I definitely think that DS is a good choice!

I just called AskMini and was told that my date of completion is August 16th! Hopefully my MA will be right and I will get the car by mid to late September.

Here are the specs:
Hyper Blue with Silver Roof MC automatic
Chrome exterior and interior
Sport Seats (cloth)
Automatic A/C
Multi-function steering wheel

I have been without a car since Memorial Day weekend, so I am extra excited – not only will I soon be driving a mini – I will soon be driving a CAR ! (As stated in another post my dad totaled my previous car; no one was hurt)

I wanted a mini when I went car shopping in 2002 but it was a little too expensive for me at the time and my dad felt that they needed to work out the bugs before I ordered (his hobby is working on cars). So 4 years later I finally get the car that I really want . . .

And yeah – friends and family all think I’m a little nuts . . . but they all want to drive my mini when it arrives!

I already called Ask-Mini but I was wondering how to track where your mini is in production (i.e. body shop, paint shop). I've looked a numerous tracking threads, but all I found was a list of codes and their meaning (150 Production started, etc.). So I've got some codes - but nothing to apply them to :impatient .

The person I talked to at ASK MINI told me without my even asking. I think she just gave me all the info she had; when Stella went into production, est. completion date, and the fact that she went into the body shop yesterday. Maybe if you tell them that you're interested in knowing exactly where your car is, they'll tell you; it's obvious that they know.

The anticipation is brutal, eh?

All right, I spoke to Tony again today at ASK-MINI (it seems like he's the one who always answers). He said that the car hasn't actually started its production yet, BUT he said that my completion date is showing August 17th, and that it usually takes about a week to produce. I'm sure the plant shutdown probably has something to do with the slight delay, but it's good to know that my completion date is in line with everyone else.

Our cars must be buddies, lol...

Mine entered the body shop yesterday and now has an estimated completion date of August 15th... bumped up one day!

The guy that answered said it must be due to the partial plant shutdown that the completion date is later since he said otherwise it would be done by the end of next week...

Well, if yours entered the shop yesterday and has a completion of the 15th, maybe mine will be in there tomorrow (if I'm the 17th). Our cars may be sharing a boat together too! Who knows?

Mmm, ya I don't know... It's weird that yours hasn't actually gone INTO production yet, and still has a completion date two days after mine, since mine has been 'in production' since 7/24... It looks like it took a week for the 'skeleton' to be built and now it's in the body shop as of yesterday...

Here's hoping yours is on its way!

The guy on the phone said it usually takes 2 weeks to ship, but I think that's to the East Coast... Obviously longer to CA.

My mini dealer told me that it takes "exactly 28 days" to get to the port here in So. Cal, and then another 7-10 days before it gets to the dealer. ASK-MINI said that it was about a month.

Week 33

We originally, supposedly had a Week 33 Production that the dealer said moved up from an original Week 33. When I called (866) ASK MINI yesterday they told me we were now Week 34. Why can we not get a straight answer?

I just called and my est. completion date is still August 15th - she couldn't tell me any more than that, except that I was status 151 - Body Shop (but I already knew that). I hope we haven't been pushed back!

I have not been feeling well lately (had an exciting ER visit on Saturday) - and since my boyfriend knows how excited I am about getting my mini he surprised me with a copy of "The Italian Job". I've seen the movie several times, but since I own it now I'm playing it constantly (he is going to regret his gift soon ) . . . I love the extras on minis! So now I REALLY can't wait for mine . . .

My g/f and I noticed that the newer one was on TV the other night so we recorded it but we haven't watched it yet. We also found the ORIGINAL film at Costco for under $5 on DVD so we bought that one (at the reccomendation of her dad).

Both are fun action films - the 2003 one is interesting because Stella (played by C. Theron) drives an original MINI in the beginning and then the 2003 Mini Coopers steal the spotlight . . . no CGI/ special effects with the cars - so everything you see the mini really did .

Mid-sep for me too! Completion date of Aug 16th, 2 week ride over the Atlantic, 7 days to dealership . . . plus an extra week of sitting somewhere (that always happens for one reason or another) and you get mid-Sep. I'm hoping it will be here by Sep. 18th since then I can pick the car up (rather than my dad who totaled my last car).
