It's quite possible we'll be on the same ship, I'm thinking. She said it can take up to 3 days to get on one so if you're only 1 day behind, it sounds possible to me. Especially since you're also on the East coast - I'm in Virginia.

I'm a little foggy on the boat stuff too - I think that tomorrow maybe a call to my MA is in order. I'll be sure to let you know if I dig anything up!

Just received an e-mail from my MA and our new MINI went into production this morning at 6:00.

I have no idea about the cabrios...

 

I have a cabrio in hyper blue with blue interior paint.. I spoke to my MA yesterday and I finally went in to the body shop yesterday. He e-mailed me this morning and I am already in the paint shop!!! They had told me in the AM I wouldn't be built until 8/31 so I guess that was wrong. They have now told me a "few more days" and I'll be done. My original due date was 8/17 but I guess it will now be next week. I'm so happy it has finally started.

 

Congrats psychedoc! That's awesome! I'm relieved to hear that you're getting right through.

Won't be long now... but it sure seems like it.

 

Now the wait is possibly going to be even more agonizing - we know our MINIs actually exist (in some capacity), but are so far away from us!

My MINI is waiting for a boat ride (at least thats what ASK-MINI says).

 

Woohoo, mine arrived at the port today!! However, he said it could stay there for another week and a half

I really was hoping it would get on the Courage leaving the 18th for Charleston, but I guess even with MINI production being down, it still has to wait for a slot... arrrggghhhhh... Well, here's hoping it gets on a boat sooner than later!!

 

Will be getting my Mini at Momentum Mini in Houston, but now it is just sitting on the dock of the bay over the big pond.

My MA just called me and my MINI is done!! YAY!

 

ASK-MINI just told me that it usually takes about a week before it hits the docks. That doesn't seem right to me. Anyway, that means probably no Terrier and the next boat for the west coast is the Torrens. Boo...an extra week.

 

What do you mean? It takes a week from the time it's done to get in line to wait for a boat? A week before it gets ON the boat? I guess I'm confused when it comes to the boat process - I'm really fuzzy on that part.

 

I ordered from MINI of the Woodlands... i didn't like the service at Momentum... and they were going to charge me more overall...

 

Well, I'll probably call them tomorrow. Last time I spoke to them they gave me a completion date of 8/17, but as far as I know, my production hasn't even started. The ASK-MINI automated message still hasn't updated with a date yet. It must be nice to have a MA that actually contacts you. I haven't heard a thing from the dealership since the day I ordered.

 

Hello fellow 33ers!

Good news: Stella's booked on a boat! The Courage, to be exact! She will be going from Southampton to NY, NY.



However, I have no idea when she's leaving or when she's expected in New York! Anyone know how to find this out? I've never had to track a boat before I saw the "How To Track Your MINI" post and saw the websites listed, which I've used; maybe the dates of departure/arrival just haven't shown up yet? Hm...

 

ooOOoo....i wonder if i am going to get on the same ship. Did you call your MA to find out which ship stella was booked too? I want to try to find out if my mini will be going on the same boat.

After some digging, I found out that the Courage leaves TODAY and is scheduled to arrive in NYC on the 28th!!

I found this out myself, with the help of the "How to Track your MINI" thread, but here's how I did it if you want to quickly see if you're on the boat with me:

Go to the WW site: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto

Put in your VIN to see if your car's been booked yet. If you're on a different ship than the Courage, you'll need to see when your departure/arrival time is for your ship. Make a note of your ship's name so you'll remember. Move your mouse over "Customer Centre" and under the menu that shows up, click "Schedules." Then you just click on the info that matches. Then you'll get a schedule of the ships leaving that port with that destination in the next few days; your ship should be on the list!

well crud, nothing is popping up. I think i will call ask mini and confirm i have the VIN# correct.

 

It may not have updated yet - I was just told yesterday that my MINI was completed. You may want to try again in maybe a few hours.

Your VIN should also be viewable on the OL if you don't want to have to call.

so i had the VIN# correct, but i was told by Ask-Mini that my car is "on its way to the port" so it has not been asigned a booking. Im assuming im not getting on the same ship as you. Perhaps i will get on the next ship that goes to the SC port, which is closer to Florida then NY. Not sure when the next ship to the SC port will be sailing though.
