Production Week 33 (August 14, 2006) Support Group
Hey Mini Mizer - I think those dots are the past voyage. If you look at the dates, going towards the UK, they go from August 8 to 9 to 10, etc. I think this was maybe the Manon's return trip to Britain.
When I look up the Courage, I see two dots with dates - one where it is now, and one where it was yesterday with yesterday's date next to it. I think they do it that way so that you can see how far the boat went in one day.
...at least I think? That's what I'm gathering.

It is getting towards the end of 2006 production and I'm sure they're having to fulfill a lot of orders right now. Hopefully once you talk to your MA, you'll get some solid answers.
But what is weird is that cgarber AND Mini-Mizer got on and those arrived at the port LATER than mine! If it was a line-up issue, surely I would have been ahead in line?! Oh and what is VERY strange is that cgarber is on the Manon, and he is in HOUSTON like me!!! So WHY would he get on before me when his car arrived on the 20th!!!!!????
All i can say is they better not be trying to put me on CA boat, lol... I am really hoping it's already on the Courage or the Manon and it's just not updating, but I doubt it... I just can't believe my MINI has to stay at the port till the 30th! That's TWO WEEKS at the port... I am just so suspicious that people arriving at the port are getting on the ships ahead of me when I was there almost a week ago!
You found out about your MINIs being on ship by entering your VIN on that cargo tracking site right? Or did you find out my calling? I tried again, and my VIN is still not showing an assigned ship/date, etc...
cgarber: which dealer did you go through?
Oh well, hopefully my MA is in and I can explain what's going on...
I found out from ASK-MINI that my car was waiting at the docks; then used the WW site and put in my VIN. It showed up that I was booked and loaded within a couple of days.
Your circumstances do sound unique, to say the least - I really hope you get some answers soon!

Mini-Mine When I talked to my MA, he said that once the car gets to the port, they definitely can't track it any better than we can. Are you entering your VIN on the Auto Cargo link?
Best of Luck.
And thanks to all of you Houstonians for all the help with Katrina. We appreciate it. I even cheered for Texas in the national championship! Hook 'em Horns!

And this is what it says when I enter my VIN

No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered
Hey mini-mine - I hope my MCSC didn't cut in line - that's not cool. I ordered through MOTW with Aka on 7/24.
ASK MINI told me yesterday that production was complete on 8/20 and that my MINI was actively in transit to the port. I checked the WW site yesterday and found nothing - checked this morning and got a message that it was received at the terminal on 8/21 - as of about an hour ago the message updated to include that it was loaded on the vessel.
Incidentally, the WW site also said that I was booked on the Manon as of 7/19, which was 5 days before I ordered - not sure what that's all about. I'm guessing that Aka had an MCSC on order and modified it to fit my specs. Despite the booking though, my VIN did not return any info on the auto cargo search until this morning after it was received at the terminal.
I was floored to hear that mine made it right on the boat - obviously excited, but certainly surprised considering what y'all have observed.
Maybe there is some sort of clerical error regarding your VIN or something like that in the WW system - that just doesn't make sense that your MINI is just waiting at the port. Have you reconfirmed your VIN with the OL and/or ASK MINI?
I haven't found that MOTW is very helpful regarding tracking info for me (although they've been great about everything else), but I hope your MA has some better info for you.

That's great that you got right on a boat, cgarber. It'll be here before you know it!
I hope someone else got on the boat with Stella and that things are just slow updating; I don't want her to be lonely!

Considering that I sold my old car and will be taking it to its new owner this Saturday, new wheels can't come soon enough!

i wish i could get mine in less then 2 weeks

Hang in There, You are not Alone
Ordered my Mini on July 4th from Momentum Mini in Houston and it was completed on August 16th. I was told by ASK Mini that it was at the port on the 18th of August. Checking the web for ship info and it still does not show up on a ship. It just gives me more time to increase the down payment. So just remember that you are not alone in the wait, it may be on a boat and just not logged in yet.

He said it could be many reasons why this happened since they just cram them all in to the port. So there is no real 'priority' and so if a car arrives later, it can actually get on the boat since it may be in a position closer to the boat, etc. Still seems weird though since I would presume Charleston cars would be loaded first, then New York, so it still doesn't really explain why my car was passed over for the later arriving ones going to Charleston even if they were crammed on at the last minute! They would have to unload them, unload the New York cars, then reload them...
He also said that there are NO OTHER MINIs in transit to MOTW right now other than a stock car! So, I'm guessing it hasn't updated with your info yet, lol...
Well, at least i feel a bit better i guess...
MOTW = Mini Of The Woodlands. I live in North Houston, so MOTW is more convenient than Momentum.
As for the MA information - I'm not sure what exactly is going on or why, but it appears my VIN shows up as loaded on the Manon. I guess we'll know more in a couple of weeks. Obviously this is all out of any of our control.
I hope y'all get on boats ASAP or are already on one!

The Manon is now showing up on www.sailwx.info. Looks like she is now about 100 miles from the UK!
Check the booking number
Mini-mine
If you check the WW site shipment by booking number GBSOU450350, instead of by Auto Cargo, it lists the VIN of 138 MINIs on the Manon.
I'm not sure if there are additional booking numbers that would correspond with more MINIs, but you can check your VIN against the ones on the ship and perhaps see if your car sneaked on and just hasn't been updated yet?
