The Courage should not be delayed by Ernesto unless!...Ernesto goes back out into the atlantic and builds up strength and comes back.

Im in florida and i work at the port here in jacksonville. Our port is staying open and all ships are sailing and arriving on time. So i would think if the port in florida is staying open then SC will be also, unless Ernesto gets stronger.

Infact we have a ship arriving tomorrow morning, exactly when Ernesto is supose to be hitting jacksonville. Basicaly...at the moment, Ernesto is a wuss

Do you know what that means?

Katherine, being the first Week 33er to take delivery, has to buy us all a round to celebrate. Newcastle for me, please!

Congratulations.

Thanks, doodlez & tsmarek!

Good luck with Ernesto, etc. - the storm is putting a damper on my pickup tomorrow night (storms and heavy rain, ugh!). The Courage will come through for you - it's the ship Stella came in on!

I'm praying for Ernesto to stay weak and stay East

Good luck to everyone else!

EDIT: Whoops, a lot of responses between when I looked and when I posted. Thanks everyone! Pics are definitely forthcoming, I'll have my digicam and memory card with me tomorrow night. I'm getting a clear bra put on too, and my dealership threw in my bonnet stripes for free!

Congrats Katherine!!

My MA called today and told me that my MINI set sail on the 23rd!! For some reason the computer didn't show the ship name but he will let me know when it shows up. He was able to give me the booking number which looks like an NYK number so no WW tracking. He did say it'll take aproximately 28 days but will let me know for sure the voyage length when he gets the ship's name.

I'm excited!

Well Mini-Mine, it looks like you were right. I got some good news today. I wasn't even expecting that the car was going to leave until today, but I called LB Mini this afternoon and they said that it had actually left England on Sept 22nd, 8 days ago. On what boat? Who knows?!?!

The good news is that they say it's set to hit California two weeks from today, on the 13th of September. Then it will be 3-10 days before it will make it to the dealer. So in about 3 weeks, it will be mine.

The bad news is that there is no way to track it.. AND the weird thing, is that he said it was arriving at the port in Oxnard. All this time, I was expecting it to be Port Hueneme.

Anybody know what happened to the Manon? The tracking system has been showing there last whereabouts as off the coast of Halifax on August 28. I have been trying to figure out what day they would get to Charleston and I am hoping it is not the same day as Ernesto, which I guess would be today! If it is, I sure hope they have them tied down tight as the storm appears to be strengthening.

Gator123,

Im assuming the Manon is in NY harbor unloading/loading for its sail to SC, it may have already left. It also may not check into sailwx.info seeing how it will be traveling just off the coast.

Its due to arrive in SC on 9/5 and i seriously doubt that Ernesto will delay the ship, as the storm is headed inland and should be well inland at the time of the Manon's arrival.

Our ships have sailed through catigory 3 hurricans before, and up to 65 foot seas off the coast of alaska. Im sure that if the tropical storm is still around they will plow right through it. As long as the SC port is open, nothing should be delayed.

Mini Mizer,

Thanks for the info. I did not realize the Manon was stopping in NY on the way down and I never knew the scheduled arrival date was 9/5 for Charleston. I guess that makes sense with the original delivery date of 9/15 my MA gave me when i ordered. Sounds like everything is right on schedule and I will soon be getting those pesky 1250 break in miles out of the way.

I "saw" the Manon pulling into NY harbor early the AM and it's docked now. It'll be leaving later today for one more stop in Norfolk before arriving in Charleston on the 5th.

It's on aislive.com now that sailwx stopped getting updates.

Waiting "patiently" - - - - -

Hey all, well I'm actually on 'vacation' in Norfolk/DC over the labour day holiday, but the weather is AWFUL, so I guess it's more a 'visit friends' than a vacation

I had a bit of spare time so thought I'd catch up on the posts... prob won't log in again till next tues though

Congrats to Katherine! I went through Richmond yesterday - it's a lot more hilly than I thought it would be! Oh, and to all those on the Manon, I'll give it a wave if it does indeed dock here in Norfolk! Here's hoping Ernesto doesn't delay any schedules... It just looks like a bunch of rain, so...

Arthur... see told you, there are many mystery boats

Ok, well I will check in again next week. Hope everyone has a great labour day holiday... I'm hoping Ernesto will blow out of DC by Sun so my days there will not be rainy too

While we're all waiting, check out the rear window dust art this guy creates on an abused MINI.

Hey guys!!

Stella is safe at home! I picked her up at the dealership last night and she is gorgeous. Unfortunately, I have no pictures yet, as the business process of picking her up kept me from taking pictures at the dealership. Ernesto is currently keeping me from taking any outdoor pictures. But once the rain lets up, I'll have pictures galore!

The process was very easy - my MA made sure I understood every detail. I got free bonnet stripes, rubber floor mats, and a $25 certificate to the parts/accessories shop. She had 7 miles on her!

The only minor (and I mean minor) problem is the front driver's side seat. At the back of the bottom of the seat (where the top and the bottom meet) on the side there is the tiniest bit of raw leatherette/fabric that is not tucked into the plastic all the way (where the lever is to push the seat forward if someone wants to get in the back seat). I accepted it last night because I suppose it's really not THAT big of a deal, but this morning I had to email my MA because it was just really bugging me. Hopefully I should know by this afternoon what my options are in terms of getting it fixed. I can't help it - for $23,000, I want perfection!

Oh, and there's a tiny dot in the dash where I think the plastic has an imperfection, but that's actually in the dash, so that really can't be fixed. I supposed I have to accept some flaws as part of the character of the car

Anyway, it was a great experience, and the drive home was really fun - even though I was in the pouring rain and clenching my teeth the whole time, I was so nervous! This is a really, really neat car and I can't wait to do some sunny motoring!!

It really is worth the wait, and I can't wait for you guys to experience it!

(And I promise, pictures forthcoming)

Katherine - Hope the weather clears up soon so you can get out and enjoy Stella !

I've been saying the Manon is stopping in Norfolk - don't know how I got that. It's stopping in Baltimore. Brain cramp from MINI-deprivation.

I can pretty much guarantee that my dealer won't give me any freebies, but I guess I'll find out soon. I definitely want to see some photos of Stella, and I know I'll be taking some of mine when I get it home.

Hey, Turcicus lives in Richmond too - we're both braving the same nastiness! Luckily, Stella looks ok. I took a pic of her braving the elements:

It's the best I could do with a tropical storm raging outside!

Yowser, last night and today was pretty wet and windy, lol... See, even on vacation I can't keep off this site!

Well the fact I've been kept inside most of the day doesn't help... Norfolk got over 10 INCHES of rain!! I saw some crazy flooding today... Thank god it is moving out and will be out of DC by the time we head up there on Sunday At least I get a few nice days...

Congrats Katherine on taking delivery!! I can't believe yours went through so quickly!!! My MA said I will most likely expect delivery the week of the 11th, which is exactly as planned... I hope to pick up on the 15th if it does indeed get in that week! I love that I get back from vacation and then my MINI is almost there!

Ok, well now the rain has stopped I'm going to head out and enjoy! See you all next week
