Cute!

Sounds like someone needs a set of Eyes, to show the true Heart of a Mini.

Ok guys, as promised, I have photos of Stella!!

Post-Ernesto, and post-wash&wax:

View through sunroof/sunshade:

And then comes the seat, the one that I sort of take issue with. What do you guys think? The leatherette just won't stay tucked in. The little white bit is the underside of the leathrette; it's like a little blob of leatherette that just won't do what it's supposed to. It's not like this on my other seat or on the other side of this seat. I just don't know if it's a big deal or not.

There's the seat, and my clear bra isn't all the way stuck in a tiny spot on the front (I noticed it while waxing). Other than these somewhat minor issues (the bra has a lifetime warranty so if it gets any worse, no biggie, they'll just redo it) this car is FABULOUS. It's so much fun to drive!! There's really no comparison when it comes to the MINIs you test drive and the one that's actually sitting in your driveway. I stare at it and just can't believe it's really mine!

She looks like the puppy that wins "Best in Show" at Westminster ! Cute and strutting her stuff !

She's a real looker

Congratulations agaiin. I'd let the dealer know you're not satisfied with the seat. I would. It's not that big a defect, but it is a flaw that you will have to see every time you get in the car. My 2 cents worth.

Stella sure is pretty. Love that Hyper Blue/White combo. My baby's status has finally changed to En Route. I can't find out any info about what boat she is on so I am going crazy right now.

The Manon gets into Charleston on Tuesday, and I hope TABASKO gets to the dealership in Baton Rouge by Friday so I can take delivery Saturday.
I waxed the wife's SUV and pressure washed the carport today in anticipation of the new arrival. I hope the love-bugs are gone by the time I pick up the MINI. They are a scourge on humanity.

Jumping into the thread pretty late, but I have my MCS JCW on the Manon as well. Looking forward to picking him up at Cincinnati MINI very soon. Then I need to get things going to sell my current '03 MCS. Congrats to everyone else on the Manon.

Katherine, Great pics! Thanks for sharing your experiences from start to finish.

I agree with others on the seat. At least mention it and keep the pic's. That way if it gets worse you have everything documented.

Mine got off the boat Courage in Charleston on Saturday. Not sure how long it will take to get all the way to MN, but I can't wait.

Enjoy Stella!

I wonder how long it will take to get to Jacksonville FL. Im not far from the GA boarder, and its actully pretty close to SC.

hmmm....

I ordered the m7 upper middle and lower front grills (powder coated in black) a few days ago. I think the black against the PW will look good. I hope i get them soon so i can put them on the car as soon as i get it. I also ordered the Iride Ipod glove box holder from mini mania. So now i can keep my Ipod out of site and keep it from flopping around inside my glove box.

Now i just got to get up enough courage to pull the trigger on a set of wheels.

Ok so i was wondering when exactlly i should be doing the paper work/paying for my mini. Do i do it before the mini actully arrives or do i have to wait until the car is actully at the dealership? It would make more sense to me that i would have to wait until its actully at the dealer so i can view the car. But my MA told me something about doing paperwork 30 days prior to the car arriving at the dealer. Weeeell.....i have not heard from my MA, everytime i call i get an answering machine, so i sent an e-mail asking what needs to be done. If i have to wait until it arrives at the dealership then i will have to call the bank and get an extension on the bank check's date.

I did all my finance paperwork when I took delivery. It took about three seconds. We went over additional warranty packages you could buy, etc.; I got an extra year's worth of warranty for $595. It really doesn't take very long; my MA went over everything in the car with me, etc. and then I went to finance while she took it to get it filled up with gas (and for the guys in the back to take that fugly cupholder off). After that, she handed me the keys and I was good to go! The whole process took about an hour and a half.

Thanks!! I'm enjoying her very much, such as it is. It's been so rainy here! I can't wait for some sunny afternoons, and when it gets cooler - crisp autumn evenings are the best for driving with the windows down! I'll probably wash/wax her again as soon as it clears up. Oh, and I'm SO glad I got the clear bra - after my 2nd or 3rd drive out, I came home and noticed a huge big yellow bug splat right on my white stripe! Luckily the clear bra was between the bug guts and my stripe - it wiped right off the plastic instead of staining my lovely white stripes! And it's definitely good for the white mirrors - bugs are smushing up all over them, but it wipes right off! It was $699, dealer-installed, for the bra to be put on the front bonnet, bumper, and mirrors. Definitely well worth it.

The only thing that's really bugging me is the seat - I'm so afraid it will get worse! But we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully my MA will be in touch soon. I try not to think about it, and I'm sure it's really not a big deal, but it's just one of those things that you know is there and it sort of eats away at you...hmph.

Anyway -

I can't wait for all you guys to get your MINIs! It's really just the best

Um, ok, we have a weird update on my MINI...

I decided to call the automated voice on ASK-MINI and it has changed to.... wait for it... "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting shipment, no shipping info is available right now"!!!! OK, WTF?!?!?

I'm going to have to call them later today to see what is going on... It seems weird that it would say that it is in transit and then go back to that? Unless they accidently 'coded' in the wrong message and it's supposed to say it's at the VDC?!

The OL still says it is 'En Route', so I'm thinking it's just a mess up on the automated side... or at least that's what I'm hoping!

I'm going to be majorly if it is STILL at the port!!!

mini-mine, that is nuts! I'm not sure what is going on, but obviously the shipping end of things is kinda funky lately it seems. I hope you get some good news from a live person. I fully expect a similar experience once my status changes as well, the way things seem to be going!

It's more than likely on a boat, especially if OL says it is. And honestly, it should be by now, it's been a while. I'd try not to stress too much and then talk to a live person when you can. Here's hoping everything's ok!

It's a glitch it appears... I called ASK-MINI (he said I was the first caller of the day, lol) and he said it should be getting close to me getting it and he said it's definately no longer in England. Phew! I think it might have actually arrived at the VDC and it updated wrong... If so, that is really exciting!! I'm going to call my MA later today and see if he has any other info.

Mine is supposed to hit the port a week from today. The dealer told me it was supposed to arrive in Oxnard on 9/13, then it will be anywhere from 3-10 days to get it. So I'm looking at only 1 1/2-2 weeks or so, and then I'll have it. I can't wait! I'll post photos!

Well, according to the Charleston Port site, the 'mystery' ship I think my MINI is on (per Tabasko's research!) arrived yesterday at the Union Pier Terminal! Let's hope it IS on that boat and I will have my MINI next weekend!!

ok so i extended my loan check from the bank last night so it doesnt expire. (void date was today) in the process my interest rate got reduced by .5 WOOHOO!!!! That made my night! the only drawback, which im not sure will effect anything is that the check wont come into the mail with the new date until friday. So as long as my car isnt ready before friday im good to go!

I was wondering if anyone has requested their car have the double pull to unlock the doors reprogramed to 1 pull. Also does the mini have day time running lights, and if so has anyone asked for them to be disabled? Has anyone else had anything changed on the car by the dealer that is not a "standard" factory option? Such as reprograming? software changes?

Hi Mini Mizer,

My MINI's in production week 34 (my boat, the Boheme, just hit the docks in NYC this morning--woo hoo!!!), and a couple of days ago I got an email from MINI asking me how I wanted the car programmed (even my 6 favourite radio stations!). One of the options was, indeed, daytime running lights--they give you a choice as to whether or not you want them, and then program it in. The double-door pull was NOT an option offered in the email, however, so I can't speak to whether that's reprogrammable.

Hope that helps a bit?
