What can I say, it's a slow Friday morning.

Here you go. According to WW, here are the schedules:

Leaving SOUTHAMPTON to NYC:

8/18 - Courage - arrival date 8/28
8/22 - Manon - arrival date 8/31
8/30 - Boheme - arrival date 9/8

Leaving SOUTHAMPTON to CHARLESTON:

8/18 - Courage - arrival date 9/2
8/22 - Manon - arrival date 9/5
8/30 - Boheme - arrival date 9/13

It looks like once the Courage, Manon and Boheme dock and unload in NYC, they head to Charleston. So it looks like the nearest bet for you is going to be the Manon. If your car's already at port waiting to be booked, you should most definitely be either on the Manon or Boheme.

Hooray!

awww thanks katherine! that was very nice of you!

So it looks like my car will be on the Manon, atleast thats what im guessing, I highly doubt they will throw my car onto the Courage today before it leaves. I think thats just wishful thinking. So i guess 9/5 is what im shooting for, hope im not getting my hopes up.

thanks again!

However, I have no idea when she's leaving or when she's expected in New York! Anyone know how to find this out? I've never had to track a boat before I saw the "How To Track Your MINI" post and saw the websites listed, which I've used; maybe the dates of departure/arrival just haven't shown up yet? Hm...
Well, I guess even though our cars appeared to be buddies all the way through production, they have been separated at the dock

I was hoping to get on the Courage, but when I enter my VIN, it says it's not in the database... I guess you got the last slot, lol... I can just see the arm coming down as yours boards the ship and mine is left behind, haha...

At least my owner's lounge status has been upgraded to 'awaiting transportation'!

Well, here's hoping I get on the one leaving 8/22

It may not be too late - sometimes the info takes a while to update. You never know! But I'm sure you'll be on the Manon, if not the Courage, and that's only a few days later. No worries! Maybe our cars wlil meet up again at the VDC

Well, I just called ASK MINI and the automated voice is updated too saying it's awaiting transportation, but no shipping information is available yet... I talked to customer relations, and they said the same thing... Oh well, here's hoping it gets on the Manon, since I can't imagine the poor thing sitting there till the 30th!!! That's almost two weeks just sitting there!

my OL status still says in sceduled for production Glad that thing is 100% accurate or i would be depressed

I wonder if they will drop my car off in NY or SC once it gets over to this side. If it drops off in NY, i hope our little Mini's dont cause to much trouble during the VDC party!

Wow Katherine, yours is hauling butt! Good for you!!

Your previous question about the time from factory to dock was yes, ASK MINI said it takes a week to get to the docks to wait for a boat. When she told me that I just said, "really?" I didn't believe her because as you've just proved it doesn't take so long. Why would it? I know some end up waiting at the docks for a ship but that's different. Anyway, you really got lucky there. Man, I checked the schedule and I'm not on anything yet, so I'm probably looking at the Torrens which leaves on the 31st. I was hoping it would leave today.

Hopefully it won't be too much longer. I really think that they give you longer timelines so in case things do get backed up, the disappointment is stemmed somewhat - my car got on a boat superfast, so hopefully that's the way it generally goes. It won't be long now!

Arthurbang, I'm sorry you are having troubles with your MA and LB. That makes this experience less fun.

I was thinking that we should all get on boats right away because there shouldn't be a queue at the docks since the factory was closed. I don't know if mine is at the docks or still at the factory though.

Minichik, if your mini completed assembly on the 16th-17th it should be on its way or already there, and post likely get on the next ship after the courage. (i think the Manon) I've been told that the mini's move in batches, and my mini is also PW, so im assuming your mini would be on the way to the docks along with mine. Ask-Mini should be able to tell you if it is on the way to the docks or not.

I should call them again... heh. The only thing is I'm on the west coast so our boats are different. The Terrier leaves today and the Torrens leaves next on the 31st. I was just hoping it would get on the Terrier so I can pick up my MINI sooner!

Haha... no you aren't!

Ooooo... so I called ASK MINI and was told that my MINI birthdate was the 16th! Oh and it arrived at the port this morning and is awaiting transport. I asked if it could have got on the boat today and he said, "No not even close". He also said it usually takes a week before it does get on a boat and that even if my MINI was ready that it could have been passed over because of others in front of me. First come, first serve. They have to prep it at the docks don't they? Spray the comsoline goo all over it?

comsoline? you mean the wonderful rust protectant goo that ruins your paint? ....for like months?

I sure do hope they get all of that stuff off my mini at the VDC. Luckily i didnt get any bonnet stripes, so i dont have to worry about getting those ruined.

Yeah, I hope they get all the cosmoline off too! No stripes for me either. I read in another thread that you should change out the wiper fluid because it interacts with the cosmoline that's trapped under your spray jets and can ruin your paint. Oh and you know there was some who said that they had "rust" stains on their PW around the emblems and such. I wonder if that was really just cosmoline oozing out from underneath??

cosmoline hides under the badges and windsheild squirters. It tends to leak out and "stain" the paint around the area. Its just more noticable on PW cars because of the light color. This doesnt happen to all cars, i guess it depends on how well they wash your car before delivered. I hear its tough to get off, and it can permanatly mark the bonnet stripes, if any leaks out from the squirters. I read in the other thread to squirt out all the fluid in your squirters while someone holds a water hose on the windsheild to wash it off, this well "help" clean it out of the squirters but i dont think its 100% many washes and rain should get rid of it over time.

Edit: the stripes do get put on at the dealer, but the cosmoline, tends to linger around in the small cracks like under the badges and squirters, and since its hard to get off, it may take a few weeks/month to get rid of all of it, another problem area is the rear window wiper. It tends to build up around there also, especially on 05-06 cars.

Ah! I had no idea about this cosmoline business. Is squirting out all your wiper fluid really all you can do? Hmph. :impatient

people say zaino or whatever that wax is called helps, along with mcguires scratch X, i think you can get the stains off, but it takes some "elbow greese" i hear its not exactly easy. but hopefully our cars wont have this problem
