Even if it takes another week I'll be fine... I need to sell my current car privately anyway... which I'm getting ready to make a few fixes and wax if the sun ever comes out. If it sells early my dad said I can borrow one of his extra vehicles... a jeep wrangler stick... so at least I'll be ok to get back and forth to work!

Goodbye Week 44 - Hello Week 46!


I just got screwed!

I called ASK-MINI today to check my status and thought "Maybe I'll confirm the spec... just to make sure that everything is OK." It's a good thing I did!

My MA mis-ordered my roof color!!!

I was going PW/PW (with painted arches, once I get the car) for a very Euro look and they selected a black roof! The only thing worse than this would have been not checking and finding out in December that they had to re-order the car and that I had another 2 months to wait!

I strongly recommend that you all call ASK-MINI and confirm your colors and options with a real person.

 

A quick update --

I have :
- Always had a Hyperblue/Black JCW MCS on order since mid-September
- Not altered my options list since the initial order
- Always been assigned to week 45 as far as I know- Show as 'Scheduled for Production' with an assigned VIN Number on the OL site. (though no options or roof colour is listed)

This was verified yesterday by a senior ASKMINI Customer Relations Rep (Jason), along with all of my options. Keep in mind that the ONLY accurate, up-to-date status information is from a LIVE rep - not the OL site or the automated phone system. So - as AGRANGER recommends - call ASKMINI directly AS SOON as you get your VIN to go over your selected options and colours before it's too late.

Quoting Jason, as soon as production finishes and the car is sitting at the dock in England, the ASKMINI system will move it directly from 'Scheduled for Production' to 'Awaiting Transit'. At this point, the car basically is 'sold' to the dealer and it is he - the DEALER that will be alerted and can track the progress across the pond and through the PDI process.

Delivery ETA on the East coast depends on several factors (weather in the channel, shipping schedules, LUCK, etc), but it seems safe to assume it will be at the dealership around the 1st week of December.

I called my sales rep, and she told me that every time they throw in mats, it comes directly from the sales rep's commission. Not cool.

 

Yep, I called this morning, and although mine started in production last week, they're saying it won't be finished until next week, by Nov 7.

 

Noticing a trend here... Chili Red being built first.

 

I do not yet have a VIN for my Chili Red MCS Convertible with JCW, scheduled for Week 45.
Still in Mini limbo.

Today I called ASKMINI. The rep said production has yet to start on my car but should start soon. He saw neither a VIN number nor a confirmed production week!? He told me to call next week.

I have updated the shipping schedule on top of page 4 (#76).

 

HELLO ALL, i JUST ODERED A CHILI RED MCS WITH LSD, SPORTS PACK,COLD WEATHER PACK AND CLOTH ON OCT 24TH. i JUST CALLED ASK MINI AFTER READING SOME OF THE POST AND THE GUY ON THE PHONE TOLD ME THAT I AM A WEEK 44 PRODUCTION. HOW CAN THAT BE IF MOST OF YOU ORDERED BEFORE ME

OK they should have said something like, "scheduled for week 44 confirmed week 45." That simply means that your car will be started in week but not finished before the Friday cut off.

Some dealers are further into the production year than other dealers. In My case D&R had sold enough cars to be 2 months ahead of production. Gas prices went sky high in Indy and people were abandoning SUVs like the plague that they are! I checked back two weeks ago and the only unsold cars on the lot were MCC and MCS!

Good News: I contacted 1-866-ASK-MINI and they have confirmed that production began on my MCSC today and have assigned a VIN#. The website still indicates that I am "On Order", but I am sure the site will be updated in the near future. If the website indicates that your car is still "On Order" you might want to call the Mini hotline. Make sure you have handy your order number, which I believe usually begins with a "6". Many were kind to share that they obtained their VIN#'s earlier, and I HOPE EVERYONE IN THE WEEK 45 SUPPORT GROUP OBTAINS THEIR VIN#'s very shortly.

They did confirm that Monday is the start of week 44 though!

Hopefully Monday of next week. PLEASE NOT FRIDAY of next week. My heart can't take it much longer.

 

I'm with you doc... I'm afraid to call ask mini... I don't know how many times I can handle NOT getting news.

Great point. It would be helpful to know where they will finally end up, but more important would be to know what dealer they are going to end up at. We may have a few Intellegent Motorists out there who bought from the east coast and will do break in on the drive home.

We will see about week 46 when next Friday gets here and if we need to move people.

 

well mine is coming to Otto's in West Chester, PA... unfortunately I have a feeling I'll be moved along to week 46 but I'm keeping up hope! either way another week to sell my current car won't kill me

2 tone cars. Black is the favorite accent color (7), followed by Silver (2), and White (1)

I have observed no corelation between color choice and VIN Number asignment. Also there is no visible preferance to convertable vs hard top.

 

Mine is supposed to come into Bayone(?) according to the guy I spoke with last week at the askMini number. I believe this is the New Jersey port?. The dealer is in Sterling (Northern) Va. Does anyone know the total weekly production capacity? It would be interesting to know what percentage of us are in the group.
