Just found out that I have a November 7th completion date, my car started production on October 28th. My car is headed for San Francisco, California (actually, East Bay Mini in Northern California) I imagine my car will be taking the long trip through the Panama Canal. Does anyone know of ships that will be leaving for the West Coast after November 7th?

There is a ship leaving 11-10-05 & 11-19-05. The first ship gets in on 11-30-05 the other 12-12-05. My original completion date was 11-3-05, ASK- MINI said it will be more like 11-4-05, My car is done in the paint shop.

 

DiD has informed us that California-bound (Port Hueneme) MINIs can also board the NYK line and its shipping schedules are not currently available. After your MINI has completed production, you will have to find out from your MA on which ship your car will arrive.

11/7 approximate produced by date. Mini does not guarantee a production date.
I now have my VIN number.
25-30 days after the car is produced is when it typically arrives at the dealer.

So, I guess we're all in the second week of December to take actual delivery.

 

I am part of week 45, and started production on the 20th of October. I was told by ASK MINI it usually takes 7 days to complete production. It is still in production. I am becomming a pest because I call every day.

 

just checked and I have a VIN both OL and via phone. still scheduled to complete 11/10. can't wait!!!!

 

Coopernicus is still "Guaranteed Fresh" with a November 7th Born-On-Date ...

Some of them may have been bumped up to week 44 or earlier and others may be bumped back. Patience guys! But I know you are pulling the hairs (if any left) out of your heads!

 

Hmm. My Production is scheduled to be done by 11-9-05 That would mean a weeks wait at the port and on one of these: Boheme, Tosca, or Liberty. I better get ahold of my MA and try to find out if MIB will be discharged at NY or at NC.

 

It looks like I belong here. I called ASK MINI today and they told me the car (still working out the whole name thing) started production today and is scheduled to finish on 11/11.

MCSCa Chili Red, eveything I want and none of the fat.

Now... to work on the name...

For instance, I believe that all of our cars will start with
WMWR
then I am lost.
Is there a thread written about this already?

I just got off the phone w/ ask MINI... The guy said my car is in production and is scheduled to be completed on the 7th. He read my options and the dealer got them entered correctly! Thats good news. He said that the cars usually sit at the port for ~1 week. He said I would probably take delivery the 1st or 2nd week of december and at worst 3rd. I hope he was being conservative on those dates because I've been hoping to take delivery the 1st week of december. I guess a thanksgiving delivery is out of the question.

At least i'm getting to understand why people like support groups... this is helping me with my wait!

Well just about everyone is into production. We still need to hear from jsound, but I will bet that he is in production as well. I guess we will be switching from watching who is in production to who is on a boat.

Congrats to everyone for making it here. Too bad we lost Cecil Davis to week 46. V70R may actually be week 44. I would expect to hear that he is on a boat by the time most of us are finished.

I just got an e-mail from my MA Rchard. He told me that MINI's no longer get off the boat in NYC. If your MINI is going anywhere east of the Missippi it will get off at North Carolina.

 

darn, NYC is a lot closer than NC! ahh well, hopefully my little guy will enjoy a bit of sun on the outer banks before coming up here!
