Mine is an MC not MCS (although i still have some second doubts on this i decided i dont NEED the extra hp). Estimated completion of 11/9 although as of last wednesday it hadn't entered the body shop so i may get pushed back a bit.

Hi all, fisrt time poster. My '06 Cooper changed to Scheduled For Production today. I was told week 46 by my dealer but it looks like it's actually 45, so that's good news for me. Ask Mini says November 15 for completion. Dealer also said it'd probably be early to mid January for delivery. Seems like it might be before the end of the year though if it'll be completed on the 15th? Anyone agree? How long does shipping/delivery usually take? Anyway, I'm extremely excited to be joining the club. I've been wanting a Mini since they came out, and even a calssic one before that, and a payraise and a dead motor during the return from the great Rita evacuation gave me the perfect excuse to finally buy one. Not only my first new car but the only new car that I really wanted. Seeya!

The Automated ASK MINI "Dude" just told me that my car is now in the Paint Shop, still saying completion is 11/7 - that's TOMORROW !!!
Although, being in the Paint Shop on a Sunday could be a really bbbbad thing if some 'trainees' are left in charge over the weekend !!

yeah mine just says 'in production' with scheduled completion date of 11/10 like before. I'm hoping it says it's in paint by tuesday, but not worried either way. thursday isn't that far away... and even once it's built there will still be a few weeks of waiting. ugh I don't know how I'm going to get any christmas shopping done... I'm too busy worrying about my present!

Week 45 First Completed, do us all a favor.....
Who ever is lucky enough of us to be completed first, please tell the rest of us know exactily how long it took to build your car. I think it may only take a day or two to build one.
I am scheduled to be completed by this Wednesday, yet at 6:00 am Oxford time I still am only "Scheduled" Not even officially on the line and it is less than 72 hours for MIB to be finished.
Thanks in advance.

This might be the hardest week of waiting yet. I have been checking back hourly to see if anyone has finished production yet...and its only monday! To make matters worse someone around the corner from my work is selling an '04 Blue/White MCS which was my second choice when I had mine built. I almost want to break down and buy this but i keep reminding myself - just a few more weeks.
Just for fun I put my vin into the carfax page and came up with the following:
VIN: WMWR-------- Year/Make/Model: 2006 MINI COOPER Body Style: HATCHBACK 2 DR Manufactured In: GERMANY Search Results: 0 records found in our database
Are all minis listed as being manufactured in Germany? Just found it kinda strange.
Good luck everyone - i hope to be hearing some good news soon from all of you!

probably just in reference to who the mfg. is and their country of origin. Also I'm not too sure you should post your VIN. I dunno what someone could do with it, but I'd be careful and delete it anyway!
if you're not around after a few minutes I'll pm a mod and ask them to do it for you.

It is because the Parent Company for MINI is BMW. BMW has its HQ in Germany.
Heck there was a used MCS at a Dodge dealer here in the western INDY suburbs that actually advertized it as a used BMW MCS. The president of the MINICCI stoped by and told him that he was false adversizing and told him to change the sign. She gave her credentials and the dealer told her to shut up. The president contacted D&R and told them about it. D&R got BMW NA involved and the guy almost had a false advertising lawsuit on his hands. He almost lost his Dodge dealership!

Live person @1-866-ASK-MINI informed me this morning that my car has been completed and is undergoing a quality control check. It is scheduled for completion today and will be updated on the automated response as complete by tonight. Status on website is still scheduled for production with no options listed.

My est completion date is 11/8!!
My sales guy says my mini has been painted is is scheduled for completion tommorow
. He also says delivery should be in 3 to 4 weeks. This sounds optimistic compared to what I've seen in the posts.
Ask mini today said my car had gone through "final assembly" yesterday, and was then officially handed off to sales. She said it would get to the boat in the next day or two (man, would it be REALLY cool if it could make the now 11.8 boat to charleston............I won't hold my breath though). She guessed I would be motoring in 3.5 weeks or so!!!
I know these cars don't cost as much as VW phaetons, but when you order a phaeton they have a website that has pics of your actual car in various stages of build. That would be a really cool thing for mini, and I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to implement - a low res digital camera (which Im sure they already have anyway taking pics of the cars on the line) uploaded automatically to a site that we could log into for access. Imagine seeing your actual car in the different stages of production? MINI, are you listening?

just checked with a live person at ask mini and they haven't recv. any updates since 10/31, when my car went into production. I'm guessing he'll go into paint tomorrow or so... now the question is whether I count halloween as his birthday or the 10th... hmmmmmm... may affect what I name him once I take delivery!

Alice cooper is awaiting transport
Production is completed and now I'm awaiting transport to Charleston, and ultimately Atlanta. I think I'v got 3-4 weeks left before it arrives at the dealer, based on the shipping schedule. I don't think a ship leaves till the 14th. It's time to sell my 2002 325Ci. Hopefully I can sell it 3 weeks on Autotrader.
