I called 866 Ask MINI today. I'm still scheduled to start 11-7. They couldn't give me a completion date or VIN.

Dawgfan: Give it another day.

dgboggs: D&R was pre-sold for 2 months when I ordered. I have had to sit and wait On Order for this time. Talk to your MA and 866 ASK MINI

ja ME s: Our MINI must be almost Siamese Twins! I have a funny feeling that our MINI are on the line but will not be at the boat by this Friday. PS your sig pix is not working.

Cecil Davis: I had you at week 45 all along. They bump you back to 46? What is happening? When is your estimated finsihed date?

CeridianMN: You are sccheduletd to be completed 1 day before me that means yes you are a week 45 member. I will officially put you on the list
I will also update the color list. You are Monotone Space Blue correct?

I just returned from D&R (picking up our MINI ), and I heard that you guys have been pushed back futher in production, is that true? If so I'm sorry, because this car is awsome. I have never had so much fun behind the wheel of a car.

Well, I didn't get a guarentee - still estimated completion of 11/8, but I do have have a VIN. Of course, after getting off the phone I realized all I had done was verify my factory options so I got onto the owners lounge and that's where I got my VIN.

Yep, monotone space blue. The JCW including suspension will do the car's talking, the apperance will be subtle - although the side skirts and web spokes make it a little "louder" than it would otherwise be .

CeridianMN - So, you selected Side Skirts and Webspokes.... good combo !!!

I ordered the same exterior items for my Week 45 Hyper Blue/Black JCW MCS along with Chrome Mirror caps.

I went a bit nuts with the other ala carte items as well, which conspired to run up the price pretty bad along with the already-expensive JCW kit, but I really look forward to seeing my unique little 'Custom Car' when she FINALLY gets here .

This is the best part about the MINI - you can create one that exactly fits YOUR style... end-to-end, inside & out. That is extremely rare for a relatively inexpensive car, and probably one thing that makes them seem so 'Special' and sought-after to even non-Car Crazy people.

OL still isn't updated to show this and I didn't wait to talk to someone to get the VIN, but I'll do that tomorrow or so. this is enough excitement for today... gotta keep it spread out to make the time go by faster

Coopernicus:
Agreed. The "Custom Car" concept is quite attractive, and I very much appreciate the interaction, through 1-866-ASK-MINI and their website, from "On Order" to "Delivery". These touches help provide a higher level of customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Marque. Lastly, it looks like you made some excellent choices for your Cooper.

Congrats to Dawgfan & theroyalwe

Congrats to Dawgfan and theroyalwe on obtaining their VIN's. You will be keeping Dr.Diff busy with the updates. It looks like it's really happening. Some of you are quite lucky in that your order was place in Oct. 2005 and already have VIN #'s. I placed my order in August, 2005 and was told 9 months. I believe with the number of JCW's being made in week 45, the dealer pushed me up a bit so if all goes well, I should be 5.5 months from order to delivery for a West Coast delivery.

theroyalwe: What are you doing man? Get on that phone, Get that VIN! Memmorize it!

Dawgfan: Glad to hear that for you.

CeridianMN: That is good enough for me. I will officially put you on the list.

1nf3rn0: We are hanging in there with you.

KDO: I don't know I E-mailed Richard to let him know the VIN and Estimated finished date. Haven't heard from him. Not worried because, it is normal for him not to reply for a day or so. And today is Tuesday, Richard has this day off.

I'm trying to spread the good cheer over a few days.... I'm sure I could get the VIN, but I'm really really TRYING to be patient here! of course this does mean I need to get my car as close to ready to sell as possible this weekend. after that a trip to my uncle to get a new inspection on the old girl and she should be able to get me top dollar. every cent extra will of course go to the list of accessories and shirts and crap I want to pick up!

CoopCoop: Congrats!

theroyalwe: Patience... You're getting a MINI! I am with you about selling the old ride and getting MAX $$$ for the MINI! The canvas isn't even finished yet and I have a number of decals waiting.

Make room on a boat for my MINI!

I called ASKMINI and Tod gave me good news; production started today on my car at 3:36 GMT. The estimated date of completion is November 10. I also have my VIN.

I guess my car should be ready for delivery a month from now. So near, but yet so far.

Well, since we are cresting the magic week 45 of production, I thought I would go ahead and post the full specs of my order for your perusal :

2006 Mini Cooper S Coupe

Packages
John Cooper Works Tuning Package (factory installed)
Sports Package #2
Cold Weather Package #3
Convenience Package #4

Mechanical
1.6L Supercharged Engine, 210 BHP
6-Speed Manual Transmission
Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

Exterior
Hyper Blue w/ Black Roof
Factory Aero Side Skirts
R98 ‘Webspoke’ BBS 2-piece 17x7” Wheels
Chrome Mirror Caps
Xenon Headlights
Front & Rear Fog Lamps
Auto Headlights
Heated Mirrors & Washer Jets
Rain Sensing Wipers

Interior
Panther Black Leatherette Seating & Trim
Interior Body Color (Hyper Blue dash & door inserts)
Multi-function Steering Wheel w/Cruise Control
Automatic Air Conditioning
Harmon-Kardon Sound System
Auxiliary Gauges (Boost & Volts) on Steering Column
Heated Seats
On-board Computer
Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror
Universal Garage Door Opener

I basically got everything in the Premium Package #1 as well, except the heavy sunroof. The side skirts and steering column-mounted gauges will be installed at the dealership upon arrival.

As you can tell, I went a bit overboard with the accessory list, but VERY few of these options actually raise the weight of the car at all, and it will definitely make for a uNiQuE MINI !!

Losing my mind...

Lately the MINI is all I can think about... I know it'll be here in about a month which isn't that long but it feels like the night before Christmas everyday! I haven't been this excited/impatient since the days leading up to the births of my 2 little boys.

Once again... 2006 MCS PW/B

The real question is how long will it take to get on board a ship!

Woo hoo, got a VIN today on the website and was told by Ask MINI that production was started on 10/28. He couldn't give me a completion date, though.

I really need to figure out what I'm going to do with re: roof and bonnet checkers, stripes, etc.

So, Production Week 40 seems to be around the middle of receiving their cars right now. Since Thanksgiving is an American holiday we know that the factory isn't taking a week off for that. Based on the Australian calander I have here (it had cool old computers on it - I had to order it) I don't see any holidays that should slow production. That puts us getting our cars around the second week of December if all goes well?

I would love to get mine by the first weekend in December, but seriously doubt that's possible - especially with the dealer installed JCW suspension. Oh well, as long as I get it before my younger brother comes to town so I can surprise him by picking him up at the airport with it (he sprung his new house on my parents by leading them to it after a dinner out) .

Ceridian I'm just guessing by your username that you're in MN. If so, you may just be right on with a 2nd week december delivery. I'm on the east coast and very much hoping for delivery the first week of december. I'm not sure how the cars would get to MN. do they go to california first and get shipped or do they come in via NY or NC and go by truck across the country?

I'm right between you guys in Michigan, but I'll still hope for the first week. Just confirmed this morning that my car is scheduled for completion 11/10. If it gets right on a boat and has NO issues I think I have a shot. That said, 2nd week is probably more realistic.

Yep, northern suburbs of Minneapolis actually.

According to the manager at my MINI dealer "MINI-sotan" MINI's come in NC and are trucked up to here. Apparently that changed from the NY one about a year ago or so? Anyhow, I cannot vouch for the ones in MI - the dealership would know though.
