So I just got off the phone with ASK-MINI and I'm scheduled for week 45 production too! I have my VIN #, and they have all the correct options listed, thankfully. I really should have called sooner, just in case. According to the rep I'm already listed as in production, and the car should be built by the end of next week (11/11).

This will be my second Mini, the first being almost a year old right now, a Chilli Red/White Cooper.
The car I have on order is a Hyper Blue/White Cooper S with the following options:
Premium Package
Sport Package
Cold Weather Package
Convenience Package
Rear Fogs (full set of toggles!)
LSD
Interior in Body Color.
Cloth Seats.

Can't wait! I've already started having dreams worrying about driving stick. I'm from the UK, so theoretically I can.. but I've never owned a manual car before, and learned to drive in a small Scottish town with no traffic. Now I have to deal with LA traffic...

 

I called ask mini a week ago, and they told me my car started production 10.20. I called them yesterday, and they said my car would be completed 11.6. I call them today and they tell me that its scheduled to start production on 11.6. I wonder if I call them next week if the car will be scheduled for production sometime in 2006.

So, I guess I'm back in the week 45 club!

I'm going to call my MA and see if he has any different information.

So I just called back to check and see if the sunroof was listed in the options ("sorry, do you mean the dual pane panoramic moonroof?" - rep on phone), which is was, and she told me I was in production week 48, scheduled for production by 11/28.
I choose to disregard this and believe the car will be built next week. We shall see if my version of reality matches up with Mini's....

 

Don't worry all you northeasterners. There are still two VPC's on the East Coast: NY/NJ-Port Newark and Charleston.

The MA was referring to the DiffMINI. Indiana-bound MINIs used to come through NY/NJ, now they come through Charleston, South Carolina.

This is the most news I've recieved since I got the VIN#. I've been calling ask mini every other day, and up to this point all I got was the standard "its scheduled for production" answer. I called them today, and they say my car just left the paint shop, and its on its way to final assembly. They say it is scheduled to be completed on 11.6 - does that make me week 44 or 45?

I guess I won't make the 11.7 boat to charleston. I'll have to look at the schedule to see when the next boat leaves.

At least I have paint!

It looks like there is a ship on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th, so I hope to make at least one of those. The guy at ask mini said the parking lot is a pretty big one at Southhampton, so not making the 11.7 ship is no guarantee that I will make the one following, as there is usually a pretty big line.

Just called and found out that my Royal Grey is in the paint shop, still scheduled for 11/6.

The representative indicated that I could expect my Mini the 1st or 2nd week of December in Minneapolis. Hoping for the 1st.

You'll probably beat me then, I'm in Minneapolis as well but am getting dealer-installed JCW suspension and side skirts . I have family coming into town the weekend of the 3rd so how awesome would it be to get it then though? In all honesty I've been setting both my wife's and my expectations to be a pick-up around the middle of the month barring any problems.

I should really create a sig w/MINI stats or something - it's starting to feel really real. I even am starting to get smiles driving my '93 cavalier knowing that I'll be driving the mini, just imagineing driving it. It's starting to feel totally real .

 

I feel the same way... for the passed few weeks I've felt like it is the night before christmans everyday! This has got to be somebody's personal hell... forever waiting for a MINI. I even found myself babbling at some woman in a parking lot at the supermarket about her MINI! I felt compelled to tell her I have 1 on order and I'm very excited.

11/10 here... today I thoroughly cleaned, waxed, vacuumed and emptied my current car and it will be inspected for dec. next week... then sold and MINI here I come. now it's definately feeling very real to me!
