I discovered that I had a "5" where there was supposed to be a "4" - the 8th character. I was wondering if anyone else has this? I've contacted the gentleman that runs the site and so far the best we can come up with is the factory JCW as the reason.
Anybody else? Any ideas? Something to ponder as we await the dreaded ship tracking across the pond?

The question now becomes, was it changed on all the cars in that timeframe, or does it stand for something else? What is this mysterious digit? Why am I still asking about it in this thread instead of making a new one?
I guess I'll start a new thread in the next day or two...
just (yet) another update... my car arrived at the terminal per WW. also the OL tracking now shows it awaiting transport. I think for once everything jives... at least until it gets moving again.
gotta tell you, I'm getting psyched... but I still have to sell my other car so it better sell quick once I get it listed!

My mini is almost half way across the pond!
Hey all! According to the ww cargo tracker she's on board the ELEKTRA and the OL has her listed as enroute! I've been tracking the ELEKTRA on the ww ship tracker. It is now at 32 degrees west! Still don't see my factory options on the OL specs page though. Should I be worried?

For all those on the Patriot, it sets sail tomorrow! Well, its only stopping in Southampton tomorrow, but at least my car will be on the open seas. I'm having a newcastle (or two) to celebrate the departure. My wife thinks I've gone loopy.

Same here... wife thinks I've lost my mind. I think a few more weeks of waiting and she may be right. I just hope BOHEME leaves port on time and my MINI is on it as expected!
If they think we're nuts now, just wait until the car is actually here. Aside from rubbing the thing with a diaper in the garage at night, upon delivery I will probably go straight to key west - or I might head the other direction to the dragon.

I can just see the sequel to Ferris Buler's Day off now. MINI being flogged around Chicago jumping over train tracks with Star Wars music in the background!
MrsDiff tells me All I do is eat sleep drink and breathe MINI. A punch in the gut every time because she IS right. GEEZ am I that shallow?
"when Cameron was in Egypts land - let my Cameron go"
Classic! I love how the parking guys put 300 miles on the car in 3 hours. I'm a native northsider (Thorndale and Sheridan) and they would have had to pretty much drive to Iowa to put that many miles on it in that amount of time. They certainly couldn't do that on Lake Shore Drive.
As for being shallow - hey, we all need hobbies, right? At least that's what I tell the wife.
I actually looked at a few late eighties Ferrari 328's before deciding on the mini - the maintenance can be pretty pricey on these, and at least with the mini I get a warranty and won't worry about driving it out of town. Plus, I don't have an all glass garage in Ravinia.
