The dealer backdated the sale to 10/31, and in Minnesota they start the registration as if it were the first day of the month, so my year is from 10/1 to 9/30. It's only a few bucks, but it's the principle (or lack thereof)...

I was in the delivery bay also (Probably because they put the Roadguard on my car that afternoon). I was disappointed I didn't get to use that little glass garage area they have.
Overall though Otto's was great. I was so excited I forgot to bring my downpayment with me, and I almost had to leave without my mini. However, the finance manager typed a quick IOU from me to Otto's and stopped by to pick up the check at my house this morning. If it wasn't for that fiasco I would have been in and out in less than 30 minutes. By the way, they gave me a $35 gift certificate to their store.
It's funny, I couldn't see my Mini (because it was in the delivery bay) until after I filled out all the paperwork and had my MA go through all the information. I didn't listen to a thing she said because I was so excited.
I looked for your car, and I think I may have seen it but I'm not sure. Great color choice

ok now seriously... where are the pictures?
i went to the OL and the 'Track my Baby' link has been replaced with a 'Post your own photos' link. I wouldn't imagine this would happen automatically after it hits the estimated delivery date? hopefully what it means is my MINI is in and prepped and i'll come home today to a voicemail telling me to pick it up. I'm so excited people are already picking theirs up - i really hope i can get it first thing saturday. I try to not bother my MA as much as possible but its so hard when we are this close.

My car is at the VPC in Greer, SC about 30 minutes from the dealer in Greenville, SC. My MA is off until next Tuesday. I told one of the other MAs that I would call back tomorrow, that I would like to pickup Saturday if possible. He said that could happen!
COME ON 45'ers .... :impatient :impatient
I still got another WEEK to wait. A 'couple a pics' is all well & good, but GIVE UP THE SKINNY!! I want details!!!
...... What's good?
...... ...... What's bad?
...... ...... ...... Will Jenn buy a MINI and reconcile with Brad?

My dealer says the car will be ready for delivery on friday - If that really happens (or whenever it happens) I'll be sure to post pics. I've got these R99 anthracite wheels sitting in the garage, and its driving me nuts not having them on the car!
I've only put maybe 10 miles on it but here's my impression...
MUCH more power than I expected and INCREDIBLY responsive! When I nail it, it really throws you back into the seat. The orange interior lights look so ceul! The silver interior surfaces look AWESOME! When I shift, the throws are really short and smooth. The feel of the shift **** is awesome. Seats (leatherette) are firm and comfortable. PLENTY of head/leg room (in front seat at least!). The engine purrs nicely and the "burble" it makes when you let off the gas to slow down sounds cool. Very stiff sporty ride!!! I've gotta get used to where the controls (power windows and interior door handle) are. 1 interesting thing that the dealer pointed out which I toally noticed later... to close the bonnet and boot you've really got to close it hard. Everything feels solid... doors, wheel, handles etc. I'm still a little nervous driving it, new car and all, and it seems like cars waiting behind me at a light or turning right while I'm in a left hand lane get WAY TO CLOSE! PW/B combo definitely makes me happy... I wasn't sure after I ordered because I hadn't actually seen a PW/B Mini and after i saw a RG MINI i had second thoughts.
It is definitely living up to the hype!!! NO LET DOWN HERE! Easily the nicest car I've ever owned.

My initial impressions after 37 miles and numerous hours sitting in my MINI Cooper in my garage:
I agree with JRZYMINI with most of his points about his car, although my car is not an S--the solid feel, the shifter, the seats, the headroom.
The engine purr on this car makes me wonder why I would need the JCW sound kit. I haven't driven an S, but the ride is firm enough for me.
While driving, I have yet to develop a perception of where the front end is. The hood just slopes away. I can only see as far as the wiper blades! There was a car ahead of me waiting to make a left turn on a somewhat wide street. I saw there was enough space for a car to pass on the right using part of a driveway ramp. As I made this maneuver, I felt the MINI tilt a bit. I had misjudged the location of the driveway and drove over the curb. Oops. No harm done.
I agree about closing the hood and boot. I thought I had closed the boot but the warning light signaled that it was ajar. I then closed it with a slam.
The instrument warning lights and the digital readouts are small.
I have the standard radio/CD player and it sounds great.
I am pleased with the chrome interior against the anthracite dash and headliner. The Royal Grey color is a brownish, greenish grey which I'm liking more and more.
I think I have found only one imperfection--the passenger side seat has a couple of hard protrusions under the cloth on the seat. I've been told these could be air bag weight sensors. I'll have to look at the seats of other cars.
All in all, I'm really happy with my MINI.

I just talked with one of the MAs at my dealer and my car has been released from the VPC to the trucking co. That is a 30 minute trip to the dealer. The MA said if it gets there today, unless it is late, that I could pickup tomorrow 12/3.
