My Mini has arrived at the dealer and is being prepped. I'm picking her up tomorrow if the Roadguard guy can get the clearbra put on!!!

 

My MA called me today and expects delivery tomorrow.... He said if it comes in early enough there is a good chance he can have it to me by tomorrow nite! ...If not Thursday defintely. However, if it comes in Thursday I won't be able to pick it up until saturday!!! That would blow...

Anyway, I scheduled with the bank to sign the papers and pick up the check for my financing at lunch tomorrow so I'll be ready when the dealer is!

 

Anyway... either way I'll have it for this weekend which is what really matters!

 

I haven't heard from my MA yet but with everyone else in NJ/PA getting word already i'm hoping to hear wed/thu so i can pick up this weekend. i still have to sell my car but its in my parents name so i will just wate until i have the mini and then leave the jetta over their house with a sale sign for a few weeks and see if it sells.

 

...Just as long as I have it by this weekend I'll be happy.

 

You can put me on the list for the Tosca. We're expecting our second Mini, a red Cooper S. BTW, does anyone know where the Tosca is on the Ocean Weather page? According to WW it left the Panama Canal on the 29th, but I've not been able to find it.

 

I just looked this morning at the W & W Website, and it shows that our 2006 MCS was officially discharged from the vessel on Monday afternoon. Anybody know how long it will take to pass thru VDC and arrive at Dealer (in Pittsburgh, PA)? It seems like when my family went to Charleston, SC a few years ago for an Easter break, that we were able to make the drive from Pittsburgh to Charleston in one day (10 hours to be exact!).

So, I talked to the Credit Union to get them cutting a check, I talked to the MA too, but he claims to not have any information that shows the car has arrived in the States at all, so he cannot estimate how long it will take to move from SC to PA.

I'm hoping to get this thing by the weekend, if possible, but I do not think that will be the case!

DrDiff 12/4 is Sunday, is your dealer open for deliveries that day?

My MA say 12/6, OL says 12/8. Who knows, things change. I may wait until 12/9, my off day.

 

OOPS my bad. That is the day MIB is supposed to be dropped off at D&R. I imagine I won't be able to pick it up untill 12/9/05 at the earliest.

 

I just got done talking to my MA. 15 cars got on a truck (2?) yesterday and are bound for Motorwerks MINI in Minneapolis MN. She figures they'll be in-state on Monday the 5th. She told me I should expect delivery around the 16th. Since my financing currently expires the 14th and I have a relative arriving from Colorado on the 16th I asked if it were possible for us to be closer to the front of the prep crew so we could pick it up by the 15th. She said she'd do what she could (Sorry BrianG ). My dealer prep includes a day of shop work - so it would normally be one of the last ones done. I guess they prefer to get three MINI's prepped in one day then have those three wait while a JCW kit is installed. Granted the JCW is now factory, but the suspension still needs to be swapped.

Anyhow, I'm supposed to call next Wednesday and see where we're at!

 

My phone rings right after lunch, and I see on the caller id that its my mini dealer. I think to myself - no way! The car can't possibly be here yet (even though they scheduled the delivery for today)! Its the parts guy. My R99 anthracite wheels are in.

I'm going to pick them up today (mini dealer is 2 minutes from my house) and I might just hang them on my wall until the car gets here.

 

OL has finally updated to at VDC. more importantly delivery date has been moved up to 12/1. Why thats tomorrow!! looks like this weekend is a definite possibility.

 

spoke to my MA and while the car is due to arrive/have arrived today I'm scheduled for delivery at 3:45 on saturday. If anyone from phillymini is going to the event you'll get the esteemed pleasure of watching me take delivery

Hi gang,

I've been trolling around for a while, but haven't posted anything (other than a quick "hi!" in the "Welcome to NAM" sticky thread). I've been trying to figure out if my new MINI is week 45 or 46, but since it arrived at my dealer (MINI of Sterling in northern VA) today!!, I guess it's kind of moot!

Anyway, for those who are interested, here's the quick timeline:

11/13 - Completed production (that's kinda why I thought it might be week 46).
11/25 - Arrived in NY on the Boheme (7:00 AM for those keeping score! )
11/30 - Arrived in VA at my dealer (I happened to stop by and my MA said "I was just about to call you!" -- I even got to go see it and give it a quick inspection!! )
12/03 - Scheduled to bring him home (at 4:00 PM sharp!).

My car arrived at the dealer this afternoon and is being prepped tonite!!! Since I wouldn't be able to pick it up until Saturday my MA asked if he could BRING IT TO ME AT WORK TOMORROW! He's going to drop it off after lunch! I'll sign the papers in the lobby and hand him a check! I have a feeling tomorrow isn't going to be a very productive day at work......


I have a feeling my MA is close to meeting some november target and wanted to get me as a November sale. I bet that the papers I sign tomorrow will be date Nov 30th! Fine with me! He said that he'd throw in a hat if I would let him bring it to me.... like its a hugh inconveniance to me!!! Thats awesome! I'll post pics tomorrow night!

 

Truck? Seems like a train would be faster. So 15 right? I sure hope to heck mine is on that truck.

I shouldn't need much prep as I'm not getting any dealer installs. Run it through the wash and I should be done.

It seems like it should be no problem to process 15 cars in 5 days, so it seems reasonable that I should be able to pick mine up on 12/10, right? You blokes with extra work should have to wait in my opinion.

Well thanks for the update. I'll probably wait until Monday to contact my MA. I hate to annoy her too much. My financing is good until 12/23, so I should be good to go. Keep hoping to get the unsolicited e-mail from my MA anyday now.

It's here - Knauz called me at 5:45pm. Needs a little dealer prep (bike rack, snows, and rear fog). I will be picking up on Sat and probably using snows to their full extent on the way home as nature intended. At least it will be cold. Let the SB Checkmate JCW combo please stand up!

 

Yeah, I had thought they might rail them out to here as well. Oh well. I'm pretty sure on the 15 I believe she said mine and 14 others, or mine was one of 14 - but I'm pretty sure (80%) it was mine + 14. My wife is pretty much ready for it to be done and the old car to be gone...

That's not very nice

I'm really hopeing the beginning of the following week. We have kept it secret from most of our friends/family that we are getting a MINI and it's getting very hard to keep it that way. The hardest is at work where three active members of SVTOA-TC work with me. One of them makes a comment every two days or so trying to figure out if we're getting a MINI or a town & country. I'm rapidly running out of delay tactics! Another one is Thursday nights. We meet with a group of friends that is expecting to see our new car next Thursday, but that doesn't seem likely.

I'm ready to burst and just tell everyone about it and how great it is even thought I don't have it yet!

 

A warning, when you pick yours up, check the dates on the paperwork closely. I'm a week 37'er, picked mine up Nov 5th, and when the plates came today they had Sept stickers. I couldn't figure out how that happened, then I started looking at the paperwork. The dealer backdated the sale to 10/31, and in Minnesota they start the registration as if it were the first day of the month, so my year is from 10/1 to 9/30. It's only a few bucks, but it's the principle (or lack thereof)...
