Congrats on FINALLY collecting your new car!! You MUST post some pics of this HB Checkmate ASAP . This is a combo I seriously considered, but wasn't sure that the Checkmate/Space Blue interior would go well with the HB exterior and trimmings.

Since I couldn't see it before ordering, I decided not to gamble, and stayed rather conservative with the HB/B exterior, HB dash and black leatherette.

Also, since I got the Aux Gauge Pod on the Steering Column (as you did), I decided against the Chromeline Interior, since those additional gauges would NOT have any chrome on them. Do you find that the illumination on your Aux Gauges is uneven and too dim?

In any case, don't get me wrong - I am VERY satisfied with the final appearance of the Blue Lite Special (as you can see)!!
(there are many more pics in my Gallery if you are intrigued...)

Nice pics

Well when I get some sun and a clean car Ill figure out how to post photos. I like your hyper blue el conservative. To answer your guage question yes the lighting is uneven at night. The chrome interior does not conflict "in my view" with the guages. I was not going to get any until I say a car at the dealer with chrome interior with them.

The Checkmate space blue interior goes fine and does not clash. Once again your asking an owner for only 70 miles. Its like when you have a baby because its your kid you think its pretty, cute, gorgeous you get the point. Meanwhile everyone else (when your back is turned) says what an ugly baby or he/ she has a great personality.

well last night I went over 1200 miles. I've updated my signature, but per the manual I have 50 miles left for break-in. I expect to get those finished up tonight! chances are I won't get the picture, since I don't have my camera. ahh well

You are right Skip, your car DOES have lot's of . . . . PERSONALITY !!!

J/K

That combo does work out very nicely. Comparing your pics, TheRoyalWE's and mine really does show the amazing diversity that makes each MINI unique. Though they are all "2006 Hyper Blue Mini Cooper S", they really have very little in common, visually. I like that.

Yep thats whats so cool about MINI's you can order a MINI to look like one you saw someone else have. Or try not to look like your next door neighbor. Either way as long as your happy motoring thats all that matters.

Coopernicus: You gotta find another way to route that power cable on your radar detector. It doesn't do your MINI Justice!

DrDiff-

Don't worry - that is only temporary! I always hardwire my Valentine1 ASAP after delivery, and already planned to do the same to the MINI this weekend. I just have to figure out which fuse in the fuse box is appropriate to pull switched power from, and it will be very INCOGNITO !!

I also have an Ian Cull Auto-Up MINI Circuit (with Track-Mode DSC) to install, along with a sweet pair of JCW Door Sills.

So much MINI work to do, so little time...

Happy Birthday TRW! And I think you should give the redline to your car.

I've got over 500 miles. It's due to the time it took to install the parcel shelf and scrape off the airbag warning stickers. (And spending time in the forums.)

820 Miles and still haven't removed the Airbag warning over the glove box. Also haven't removed the one on the top
right of the windshield. Have yet to install any external decals yet either. The weather will not cooperate with me
on enough time to wash and dry and then get a good sunny picture. I will be doing more highway miles in the next
3-4 weeks so hopefully we should get to go to redline soon. The shifter has gotten so silky smooth and the clutch
and brakes are MAGIC! I can't wait for spring to roll down the windows and motor to hear the exhaust note!

Thinking about a Whalen shift ****.

guys
my mini arrived just before we left for mexico for the hollidays. the dealer deliverd it by truck right to my door in san luis obispo. south bay mini in torrence have been great to do business with. with only 250 miles of driving i can tell you i am happy with the jcw pgk. runs much stronger than any car i've driven on any lot. the low end really pulls. the sound is terrific. i will be trying to do my best to break this car right and stay under 4.5k but it's hard. it just wants to go. thank you south bay mini.

We've got our car but it's been rianing non-stop here so I don't have any good pics. Here's a cell phone pic until I can take some better ones:

Most of the 05/06 improvements (I've found about 50 so far) are really nice. The newer Minis are defanitly the ones to own. So far the only problem I've had is the fuse panal cover by the driver's foot doesn't fit right.

With early apex taking delivery, everyone has their MINI. This officially concludes 2005 Production
Week 45 Support Group. Thanks everyone for sharing joys and frustrations. It has been Great to help

A special thanks to Skeffers for helping with tracking our MINI's on ship. Coopernicus for helping

Let me know when you are ready for your next MINI. MrsDiff and I are already looking forward to #2.
It will have to be a LWB travler or what ever they call it. Even if it has a turbo!

I believe DrDiff and the DiffMINI have begun hibernation for the winter.
