I suppose we should let others not in the MN area to post now.

Posting this from the office at my appartment complex. I can not upload or download. When I have access I will post pix to my gallery. Kids got there and had to fondle every inch of the car. Quite filthy after the drive home in snow and Indy's infamous liquid salt.
Very pleased wth MIB. Love the Sport Seats.

Love the Mini!

Love the Mini!
I have enjoyed looking at pictures of your Mini, you are very handy with a camera. Those of us on the West Coast should be getting our cars this week.
The Tosca arrived on Dec. 9th, and the Mini website now indicates that my car is at the distribution center with an estimated delivery date of December 15th. Good luck with your cars and I shall post pics by next weekend.
All the best,

I want my car
My car was on the Tosca but the OL still says enroute. The MA claims my car will be in on Friday. Only one problem, I work 12 1/2 hour shifts Fri,Sat,& Sun so the earliest I can get the car is on Monday.
Congrats to evryone from my Week 44 build PW/B. It really went fast for all of you as it did me. Even the west coasters are going to be driving their new "sleighs" before the holiday. There is a Santa Claus, don't you think?
Waiting For Mine
Where to start. First time here and have enjoyed reading all. I'm one of the week 45, and have tracked the boat, that was some real handy info on trackin. Anyhow , ANGUS is a hyper-blue MC w/cruise, fogs and xenon, black gray leatherette interior. I'm jealous because I've just read how some of you have already received your MINI. Oh well maybe by Christmas

I know... Stay calm, I'm sure once I get my MINI I won't remember the frustrating wait.

OK! Picked up our new MCS, BRG+Black Roof/Cordoba Beige, Premium, Sport, and Cold Weather pkgs, plus the Auto Trans on Saturday. Still only have about 85 miles on it, but enjoying the heck out of it!
The MA did a superb job, taking over an hour to go over every control, and INCLUDING EVERY DASH INDICATOR LIGHT! Although I almost slipped into dreamland--not because of his very very thorough explanations, but because I kept imagining myself doing an early apex thru my favorite turns--I managed to maintain control until we drove out of the Delivery Room!
Longest drive so far was this morning out to work--20 miles one way, on a combination of highway, suburbia, and even interstate-like roads. I never even turned on the radsio---just drive along listening to that engine sound!
One thing I would like to note, for those of you with the true 6-speed: this StepTronic gives up NOTHING to that true manual. In M or S mode, you have full and total control of the car! It is an absolutely amazing bit of technology!
I have one out-of-foucs picture taken thru the living room rear window...I'll re-take some and post them!

A couple pics
Well, so far so good. Just passed 200 miles and the car is as good/better than expected in most areas. Took my family (wife + 4 and 6 yr old) on extended drive this weekend (about 50 miles one way) and it was perfect. It fit the family well and was comfortable enough for my son to pass-out for most of the ride. I was a bit concerned as to how it would accelerate with a full load and have to say that I shouldn't have had anything to worry about. Acceleration with a full load was a non-issue. Weather here has been a drag so it has limited the spirited driving, but it has handled better than expected in snow (with stock tires) and has overall been a joy to drive.
Visability out of the car takes some getting used to. The rearview mirror seems, well, big, taking up more of my field of vision than expected. The roof overhang is also a bit irratating at traffic lights so I just ordered the light-n-site things to help with that.
Overall, this really seems like a great car and I am looking forward to years of motoring ahead.

Oh, yeh. I'm 4'11'' and my seat was almost all the way up
But really, even with the seat almost all the way back, most people sit in the back very comfortably. I like the rear seats better than the front, because they seem bigger.
Someone just the other day asked me if I had ever had people in the back of my MINI. Of course! And they fit just fine. I had completely forgotten the fact that my other half and I (me 5'7", him 6'4") took the the front while my best friend and her husband rode in the back. Her in a wedding dress, me in my bridesmaid dress. Comfy as could be
So glad you all are getting your cars now!

For the record, early-apexing is usually bad.

Notice the car on the red line just hit the wall

It's getting difficult to wait now. I just got off the phone with my MA and still have a week to go! It was in the shop last Wednesday for the JCW suspension and bumper guard. Now it got sent to a different shop for the aero side skirts since they needed to be painted. Then when it gets back it still needs the illuminated door sills! I was told the check in again next Teusday.
My wife is soooo ready for the whole ordeal to be done. I was really hopeing to have it before the first family gathering of the holidays (Sunday) as I won't see most of them again until at least Easter. We leave town the week after Christmas, so if we don't have it by the end of next week our financing check will probably need to be extended.
I guess on the bright side the amount we can front for the down-payment to take off of our financing is getting bigger every couple weeks, but seriously!

"For the record, early-apexing is usually bad."
Ahh, unless: 1) it is the first turn-in of a multiple-turn set, as in an "S" turn, where there is a second partial turn immediately following the first turn (necessitating an early apex to set up for that second turn...and this is what I was thinking about!), or 2) you are in a Mini (or some other, pedestrian FWD car), where you simply turn in harder and keep your foot in it, to get the car's handling changed from understeer to oversteer!
(Otherwise, I agree with you entirely!).
