Estimated Delivery Date is 12/6?!!

I don't like that. This EDD is way too pessimistic - a week at the VPC? As far as I know, my car is still on the BOHEME and will be arriving a day before the LIBERTY.

CoopCoop has an EDD of 12/3. And both our cars will be delivered to Prestige in NJ.

My own estimate is 12/1. Next week. I want it.

Skeffers: Please update, MIB is on the KLINE ship Edmen

Dawgfan: Thanks! Man this ship tracks much better than the Patriot ever did! And it appears to go straight to South Carolina!

I assumed MIB was on board when it saled. I never checked back to the ww Web page because I was trying to reaseach the Patriot's call sign and tracking. Then about 4 days ago I checked VIN on the ww site and nothing.

My MA, Richard, was the one who found it on the Edmen. He was surprized also.

I just received a "birth certificate" and a MINI logo keychain from my dealer.

The list of options on the certificate omits the cloth seats (just like the owner's lounge) and the "birth" date is a week off.

On one side of the keychain is the number "5". What does that represent--the restraint system code (VIN), the number of gears, the number of weeks/months waiting for a MINI, or what?

More strange things.

Richard, my MA, sent me a screen shot of his computer while he was checking the status of MIB.

The estimated duration on ship was 12 (I would assume Days???}
Below shipping info, there is a category named Port of Arrival and it is dated 11/28/05

Then there is transport: Norfolk Southern and it has Estimated duration of 1(day???)

Then the final item that I can see it is cut-off but I can get this:
VPC South Carolina Estimated Arrival date 12/1/05

WHAT??? Three days to get off the ship and to VPC? I thought VPC was there at the port?

Interesting... we all see something different in the ol. I see a delivery date but no dealer name. Some one sees both and some else just sees the dealer name. Since the car arrives on friday in Newark and Prestige MINI and Morristown MINI are no more than a dozen miles from the Port of Newark, I'm guessing skeffers and I will have our cars by the middle of next week!

I called the bank I'm arranging my loan through today to update them and the loan gal said to call her the day before I take delivery and she'll finalize the paperwork.... WHAT IF SHE'S OUT SICK THAT DAY!!! That would blow. Anyway, I don't think I can do better than the 4.49% financing they're doing for me so it would be worth it.

I'm a little jealous, we're at 5.85% right now and pretty sure we won't try any other loans out. We'll be calling to finalize next week I imagine. I'm trying really hard to not contact my MA tomorrow as that forces me to wait until next week when I can hopefully hear about it being at the VDC.

I like your thinking. All of us on the Boheme should get delivery of a MINI next week.

My MA at Century in Greenville, SC tells me that cars are trucked to the BMW plant in Greer, SC for processing. Maybe that is the VPC for South Carolina shipments. Greer is about a 4 hour drive from Charleston and about 30 min. from Greenville. This BMW plant is huge! They have built on there to increase capacity. This is a relatively new plant.

Thx!!! I haven't called my agent yet (tomorrow I'm doing it). I am glad to see that's what u are paying as thats not so bad. I'm 31, married and no accidents since 1990 or tickets since 1996 so I assume my rate will be reasonable. My VW rates are pretty good but I started getting nervous while thinking about this earlier today!

...It so close to being mine that I can almost TASTE it (figuratively)!

I hear you... my suggestion is to go to progressive.com and just fill everything out but your social security number and maybe even use a fake name and email. it will let you play with the options and should give you a few options too. I'd figure yours will be a bit less since you're married, but in general the mini is reasonable on insurance.

I went with GEICO for 100/300/50 at about $675/6 months with low comp and high collision deductible. I'm over 35, single, no accidents, urban location, 1 stupid ticket (which added $60 to my rate).

And now GEICO wants to give me iTunes song credits if I give them the name of six friends who will request insurance quotes. My friends would also get iTunes song credits.

I've heard from a few people that Geico lures you in with great deals, but then yearly increases your rates equal to their competitors... who knows...

i just want to drive this thing already
Got a call from my MA again...the car should pe prepped and ready next Friday-12/2

The BOHEME has arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the Autoport, one of North America's largest vehicle processing and transshipment facilities, handling nearly 100,000 vehicles per year. ETD 5:30pm

Nova Scotia (Latin for New Scotland; Gaelic:Alba Nuadh; French: Nouvelle-Écosse; Mi'kmaq: Gespogwitg; German: Neu-Schottland) is a Canadian province located on Canada's North Atlantic coast. It is the most populous province in Maritimes, and its capital, the Halifax Regional Muncipality, is the economic and cultural center of the region. Nova Scotia is the second smallest province in Canada, with an area of only 55,284 km², but its population of 937,889[1] Nova Scotians (or, less formally, Bluenosers) makes it the seventh most populous province.

Nova Scotia's economy continues to be largely resource based, but has in recent years become more diverse. Traditional industries such as fishing, mining, forestry and agriculture remain very important, and have been joined by tourism, technology, film production, music and other cultural industries.

called 1 866 ASKMINI today and they are giving an Estimated Date of Delivery as 12/5. Should be in Port by 12/2 and they did confirm VPC for all Minis that come to South Carolina is the BMW plant. So a little more BMW heratage for MINI IN Black.

Insurance, Allstate Gave me a great deal. Plus when you combine the savings from renters insurance and 2 cars with them....

I spoke with my MA today and she said that the 12/7 estimated date should actually be about right. I'm still really hoping for sat. 12/3 but I won't hold my breath!

When I spoke with my MA he told me the delivery date listed on the OL is when the dealer takes delivery and that it would be a few more days after that. Still - only 2 more weeks. After 3 months thats not so bad.

so my insurance agent quoted me $650.00 every 6 months... not too bad i guess.

I can't imagine that with the Boheme arriving at the port on Friday the the dealer would take delivery on the 7th! My MA told me a few weeks ago that the cars generally are through processing at the port in 24 hours. Being that my dealer is so close to the Port of Newark I imagine that the 7th is actually a conservative guess at my actual delivery date.

From past postings, time at the VDC ranged from 1 day to 2 weeks depending on the number of MINIs and BMWs that are awaiting prep. It also depended on whether one's MINI needed a repair of body damage or a fix for glitches or an update to the car's software.

The average seemed to be just 2-4 days, but the true EDD can't really be known until the cars get off the ship and get examined.

I think my MA took the week off, since I have yet to hear anything from him about my car's impending delivery.

I talked to my sales guy this evening and he told me that if the boat docs on friday, depending on where the car actually is on the boat there is a decent chance that I could have the car as soon as Monday nite!!!! Wow. He said that he would call me on friday with more info... I'm feeling confident that by next friday at the worst I'll have the car.

Don't feel to bad, I don't have mine yet either.

When it does show up it'll be on the "Review Order Details" page. It'll be about the fifth line down. From the screenshot I saw it'll have a blank line aboe it and another below it. It'll be after the dealer and before the model listing. Check here to see an example from someone that does have theirs filled in. I'm wondering if that is filled in by the dealer, so maybe we need to get on our MA's. Otherwise perhaps it's more reliant on the vehicle getting to port.

In any case, I don't yet have it and I am hopeing for a December 7-9 delivery, but planning on around the 14th. I figure if I plan for later in the cycle I will be less likely to be dissappointed in the long run.
