Hello and welcome.

Looks like the headlight would be the first thing as they are pretty yellowed and most likely hard to see.

Two options:

Or

Depo headlight upgrade

Welcome to NAM! What part of SoCal are you in? If you're near us in Harbor City we do local pick up for anything you need for your MINI. Is there anything done to it currently or is it all stock?

Ah fabulous! You're not too far from us and I actually live in LB, right up the way from you. Best thing to start off with is making sure routine maintenance items are up to date and cared for. Then, as far as mods, look into a supercharger pulley. They're popular to do along with a rear sway bar, which is a very good bang for your buck mod. Let me know if you ever have any questions as I am here to help.

Where exactly do you hear the rattling coming from? i.e. rear suspension, engine bay, etc.

Engine location ? Might be a throw out bearing chatter ?

Front what I remember it was around the belt tensioner... the car is currently at home. May look more into it this weekend. Plus there is an oil leak I believe it's from the valve cover. Just ordered a new gasket kit.

If you feel the tensioner is an issue, depending on mileage and if it has been replaced, I would investigate it as they have been known to have issues. Over time, the tensioner can fail, possibly causing damage to the crankshaft pulley if the tensioner stop fails. Check out all the other pulleys in the area as well.

Tensioner might be the issue: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ock-strap.html

When you replace it check the hardware as it tend to rust :

The gasket is not too bad, its those old rusted bolts that can be a pain if the heads are rusted.

Hardware linked:

Welcome to NAM and the Mini Cooper world.
Looks in the club section for clubs in your area, such as SCMM at www.scmm.org.
Use the search function to look in the specific forums for your car problems because you will probably find solutions or at least ideas on how to isolate the problem to a specific cause. Such as some of the common oil leaks are from valve cover, heat exchanger, crankshaft position sensor, or oil pan. You need to isolate the cause before spending time and money on replacement parts. We can help you find the problem.
