Thinking about this upgrade... any experience

well its not really an upgrade as it is a style mod for me BUT i read that a lot of guys love them for full rear visibility... so its a kind of an upgrade...

It's kind of an early 90s mod which is fine because I also plan on buying some 15" work equip 01's soon... I want a robocop jdm fusion thing going on by the time im done building.

Any1 ever run one of these in ANY car? How tricky is it to get up there? can we still run our sun visors... would we even need to? Thoughts comments concerns welcome

Used them in race cars which is kinda nice. But in a street car it will get in the way of the sunvisors. Look around as I've seen several larger mirrors the strap over the stock mirror that will be easier to install and do the same thing.

Getting in the way of the visors is likely.

Check these videos (three parts)-

I use a broadway mirror which comes in different sizes/ widths and colors. Works for me and not too large.

I actually have been looking into getting one with the way my seat position is while racing and having my helmet on, I can't easily look in my rear view mirror. Only reason I'm looking into it is for racing, but it is something I have seen on daily drivers. Yes, the visors might be an issue.

Feeling nostalgic, I had to add a late comment.
I installed not 1, but two of the 5 panel wink mirrors on an '84 Vette....Chevette that is.
The width renders the sun visors useless so the visors were removed and used the existing screw holes to mount the brackets. I fabricated a bracket to mount both panels on top of each other slanting towards the windshield.
It hung low enough not to hinder visibility and served as a large sun visor. Benefits....very little blind spots.
I tried to use the same set up on my next car but my helmet kept hitting the mirrors during SCCA autocross.

Kohu'ulaMINI,

Randy, nice to hear from you after all this time.

My MCS is being used for autocross by my daughter and my son is expected back to Hawaii by the end of the year.

Hope you are doing well.
