okay just kidding, but man, it almost smelled like pinesol!

hood is still jacked up, but I'm taking it in on Tuesday so they can "look at it." They'll be doing more than that let me tell you! =)

The sport thing is not pretty.
The crossover looks like a Clubman with a lot of flat black paint on it.
I don't think either one is worth bothering about. If you want something bigger then just buy what is available already from other manufacturers.

I hate to say that with some love and hard washing with some good products the spots on my hood are gone?? which i didn't think would happen but it did, sadly after adding on more miles (now up to 900) i have 2 rock chips on my front end , but car still runs great i might be the first one of us that's done with their break in period!

How on earth have you put 900 miles on your car? Wow, I'm impressed. My Mini has just over 300 and that's only because I've been driving 30 miles each way for a temp job this week.

Ok, so I went to fill up my car for the first time tonight. No, it's not on empty I still have 3 marks left, by commute eats up approx. a gallon each way and gas is cheaper by my house than by work. I go to gas station A, swipe my card, pick up the nozzle, put it in my car, and select Super Unleaded. NOTHING happens. No gas, nothing. So I give up, put the nozzle back after waiting to see if it's a slow pump and move on to a different pump at the same station. Repeat the routine, NO GAS. So now I'm slightly irritated because I've read the directions and it's not like this is my first time ever filling a car with gas. I've done it hundreds of times with my mom's Civic and Suburban. I then drive across the street to gas station B. I insert my card, and it's denied! I go in talk to the Sales Associate. He doesn't know what the problem is. I know that I have more than enough in my bank account so I have no idea what the problem is. He asks me if I want to pay inside and then go fill up. Hello???? Paper plates are on my car! I have no earthly idea how much gas I need. So I try my card again. It doesn't work. I leave and now I am still at 3/10 of a tank and my computer tells me that I can go for another 90+ miles depending on A/C usage.

There. Done ranting. Sorry but I needed to express my frustration and unfortunately y'all are my audience. Any tips in the future?

Just filled up for the first time--375 miles and still had two bars left. I bet I paid the most for premium==$3.19 gal.. Could be worse--could be pushing $5 a gal. and could really be worse, as I am getting much better gas mileage than my BMW .

Yeah I got my first tank today too. 387 miles and 13.086 gallons. Pretty decent considering that I kept changing the rpms and such for breakin.

CThoma031 has me covered - I just hit 700 today, and will put my second tank in tomorrow morning before I head in to the office.

But a 70 mile round trip commute and a weekend trip up the coast will do that for you!

Now, about those stone chips - is the dealer my best source for touch-up paint?

Brad

Ah, I've never been the outdoorsy type but that makes sense. If we still had our lake house I would probably drive down there for the weekends, but alas we no longer have it. You probably got to drive on some really fun roads, too. I'm so jealous!

Yeah, I should be able to fill up for about $2.72 a gallon. Move to Texas!!! We have all of the big oil company exec's here, so we get gas for cheaper because they don't want to pay the high prices either. Well that and we live closer to the refineries than pretty much anyone else.

Nice! I can't wait to see the pictures! My dad and I will have to do a photo shoot similar to what we did with our boat someday and take pictures of each other in our Mini's.

Our Mini club is taking a road trip tomorrow in the mountains--I am going to try to take a better pic up there for my signature . I would recommend your mini dealership for touch-up paint. Most likely it will be the two-stage type, which has the color and clear coat in two separate bottles--kind of like nail polish. I would get a very fine paintbrush instead of using the brush it comes with though. Let the color coat dry for a day before putting just a touch of clear coat on. Good luck! So far, no dings for me

For everybody that needs touch up paint. Steve at "Custom Mini Shop" (559) 320-0004, sells "Auto Visuals" touch up paint. Great stuff! It's a pen type so better control. Matchs Mini colors perfectly and only $14.95 I think
