Anybody else in Week 19 (2009)?
Ding ding ding winner ding ding ding
When it started up the other day I hit the door lock switch and lo, the noise, she disappear!
I can't imagine what to put on them to keep them from vibrating but allow them to work. Let me know if you come up with anything - like you say, it's right by my ear!

In the past, locking my doors only sometimes eliminated the buzz so I gave up on that (I hate having to pull the lever twice to get out). I was thinking a very small amount of oil or silicone lube might work. I don't know for sure though. I haven't worked up the nerve to try anything yet. I'm open to suggestions myself.
Fuel mileage
I took a trip of about 250 miles on mostly two lane roads with some interstate. I got just over 37 mph with my Clubman S. It had about 650 miles when I started. I will be interested to see if it goes up when I get 5000 on it. The more local figure is about 33. I live in the country, so that includes driving there and in the local town.
I was really pleased with how comfortable I was for the trip, and I keep liking the handling more and more. What a pleasure.

I am only averaging 29 mpg, but alll city driving (lots of stop lights) and I have an automatic. Still a lot better than my last car (about 19 mpg).
My old car was generally in the 21-23 mpg range, so this is a big improvement - maybe if I can avoid the temptation to punch it I can get my mileage up...
NAH, it's too much fun standing on it.

Brad
On my first tank that I put in (2nd overall) I got 26 on all city driving. I was getting 28 on my MCa consistently so I am happy.
And yes, if I wanted a car solely for the MPGs then I would have bought something else. This car is way too much fun when excercising the gas pedal so I am not gonna worry too much about mileage (plus, I don't commute long distances)!

Glad you got things fixed but that is terrible that they dented the bonnet! Are they gonna fix it?
Well, I don't thrash it, but I don't baby it either. I am still not exceeding 4500, but I don't run it below about 2000, because the engine doesn't feel happy there, except for the first two gears, and yes, I do have a manual. I went 132 miles on pretty good two lane roads in under 2 1/2 hours. The computer said avg 58 mph. Luckily, we still have some roads in Virginia with little enough traffic so you can pass. I am waiting for a few more miles so I can let it out some more. Turned 1000 today. Great car! My last one was a VW Passat. Nice to drive, but typical newer VW repair issues.
yes, they will fix. it's not a large ding, probably less than 1/4" and on the edge near the top fender so probably can't do much anyway. it's just the "first one" you know? and it wasn't even with me when it happened.
Yay! Cool feeling, huh?
Other than my car
- nope, not even my first payment bill. I did get my plates from the DMV though. I'll be putting those on on Sunday along with a few stickers.
also... anyone receive "anything" yet from MINI?

It sounds like you will need to keep a very close eye on your service people!
Hmmm not me yet......
Well 2 service appointments later hoping the windshield nozzles don't leak any more...and no more scratches appear while im there......
Aww lucky I havent gotten my plates yet either... but i did put on a sticker and got my first mod put on see attached pics

I've received and paid my bill. Ick!
I've received a couple of waves but no one in my area seems to do the wave. Bummer!
I've added a longhorn sticker and the plates. Actually only the rear plate is attached right now. I need my dad's help to put on the front mount thingy and the front plate. I'm clueless when it comes to tools.
I'll post more pictures later after I've taken some pictures. I washed the car for the first time last night. That California blade is awesome!

Thanks! I have also orderd a black jack rearview mirror cover so you will be able to see that inside the car
So far I have tinted the windows, put on a turbo cover (keeps the bonnet cooler) and some stickers. Next on the list are tougher brake pads (keeps the dust down), stabilizer bars, blinky brake lights and stubby antenna (if I can find the time to let my mechanic at her). Am still thinking about the side graphics......I have my personalized plate at the DMV, but cannot pick it up until my new plates come in. Plates will read "JANMINI" (my husband is JMIMINNI) jimims

We just turned over 1200 miles, brake in time is over, yah. We have been out driving some fun roads. Mrs. Jiminni we were in your neck of the woods last weekend. Went to Coarsegold and took all the fun back roads. We are having a hard time keeping our speed down Mrs. Peel just wants to go. No tickets yet.
Been to the dealers twice in two weeks. Had the lo-jack put in and the next week permaplate on the leather. Had a seatbelt and door latch problem on the drivers side but they were able to fix both no problem. Our service has be awesome, gave us loaners both times. Sorry to hear of all the problems some have had ie scratches, leaks and dents. Although it sounds like everyones having fun.
Just received our license plates today.

Just got back from a short vacation to see the family. I think I finally caught up on the milage some of my fellow week 19'ers have. Loving the car, very comfortable ride, super quick off the line.
The brake pads from Carbotech will go in the car when I get back from Switzerland in a few weeks. The reason I bought them was to reduce the brake pad dust on the wheels. It's really annoying how fast it accumulates!! That's the main reason for em, and they come recommended by more than a few folks on the forums here.
Hope everyone is enjoying their rides!

My mom was here for a visit last week - when I dropped her off at the airport she said "I'm going to tell my friends that my son bought another British car and that he drives REALLY FAST!"
Gee Mom, I kept it under 85...
I got my back windows (passenger and rear) tinted last Friday and I'm really happy with the look. (The guy tried to sell me on a clear bra, but $600 for a partial seemed pretty steep to me. Anybody else getting this done?) Also got my rubber floor mats - Lacy, did you get the velcro anchors to attach your driver's mat?
Now I really need to sort out the XM situation. I have a portable receiver that I dock in my cars, home, and office, but now that I have the car I wish I had sprung for the factory install on the satellite radio. Trying to figure out the cleanest installation cable-wise.
Anybody else having the "sticky sunroof" problem?

Has anyone else had this problem?
