I wonder if Radioflyer's Clubman Aero kit is the same...

If he has the factory aero (I think he does), then it is likely the same. I doubt they are expensive to replace--My husband looked and they just bolt on. Decided I am just going to remove them. My favorite hand car wash has a rack system and with them on, I was not going to be able to go through it anyway. Now I can. Things just seem to work out PS. Got two more mini waves today. Our club is having a Mini run this weekend with the day at the river. Should be fun.

It's probably not a bad idea to remove them. If they are there to warn you that you are hitting something then they are not doing their job! I had no idea I was running over the stall bump until I saw it at home which was probably a dozen times later! If they are there for any other reason I will probably think more before removing them. Does anyone know?

Hey Kevin - Look out below!!!

If what I'm imagining is anything like what we have on our Honda Civic, then it is completely superfluous. If I'm remembering correctly, a black piece of trim on the front bumper, underneath where you really couldn't see much of it, started to fall off about 2 months into ownership. I'm pretty certain that my dad took it off and we've never bothered with replacing it. My guess is that it's there to protect the underside of the car but it's not all that necessary as long as you don't drive on gravel roads on a regular basis.

This is, of course, a hypothesis so I would check with your dealer's or ask around on the forum. Surely someone has had this problem before, right?

I do have the factory kit (which man is this thing low to the ground) but i haven't noticed it being a problem for me. I will take a look down there tonight and post some pics.

Had my first "Clubman while driving my Clubman" sighting last night - a red/black S on the freeway heading home.

Unfortunately the lady driving it had some serious tunnel vision going on.

I pulled up next to her, matched her speed, and waved several times. Her eyes never deviated from the road directly in front of her. After a half a minute or so I got back on the gas and left her behind.

Just trying to be friendly here, lady - I promise!

Oh well - one month in and I have received one wave. One. I will not be deterred, however!

Great story with an expected result. I have found that I get approximately less than 50% return waves. Some of those I can confirm that the person just didn't see me at all but some just plain refuse to wave. Oh well. I attribute that to the "California attitude" (or whatever you want to call it). People in my area are either not MINI enthusiasts or are too "cool" to wave. I'll keep waving either way!

BTW Brad, I haven't seen you yet. Maybe our paths will cross eventually, and I will definitely wave!

Every MINI I see in the SCV I run through the checklist - Chili Red w/Black roof? Lightning Blue w/White roof? If yes then (possibly) SteelersFan/SteelersFan Wife... Like you, though, I'll throw up a wave no matter what. I think part of the problem in Santa Clarita is that the main roads are four or six lanes with center median strips, so it's harder to get that "head on" look and wave.

Anyway, I'll keep looking - and if you see a Horizon Blue Clubbie S blur by with a redhead driving it, well, that would be my wife. The other night she was totally goading me into 'exhibition of speed' - "Are you going to let that Altima pass you like that?" She's totally incorrigible.

That's very cool that you remember both my cars!

Agreed. Plus we all either drive like maniacs or we're on the phone while we drive (not me or you, I'm sure )!

That's cool that she gets into the "spirited" driving. I wish I could get my wife into it a little more. An HzB Clubbie with a red-head driving - that'll be an unmistakeable sight for sure!!!

I get waves back most of the time--I think it is because although we live in a fairly large city, there are no mini dealers nearby. The closest is 2 1/2 hours away. As such, they are still a novelty here.

I'm so jealous! I rarely get any waves around here. Most people ignore my waves. It's so sad. For goodness' sake, I live in the state that has the motto "Friendship" and I get hardly any waves. Oh well, maybe someday people will start waving again in my area.

Thanks! It's definitely true of the majority of the state but here in the snobby, wealthy areas people aren't quite as friendly. If y'all ever come to Texas then y'all will have to let me know. And, yes, I use the contraction "y'all" on a regular basis. Private schooling didn't rid me of that Texan tradition

Thanks Steelers Fan. Now I will see if it works when I try it. twice

OK, for everyone who has been waiting to see what the windshield washer liquid would do to weeds, the test is in. It makes weeds really sick or dead. No wonder it is so good on paint.

Lol, nice. Oh and windfall, your sig pic isn't working. I am so glad that that stuff never dripped on my car. Thanks for officially testing it!

thankfully it buffed totally out of mine, but still... why don't they use the "new" nozzles at the factory?!

lol the windshield stuff did kill the grass here too. oh and beware if you did have a leaky nozzle and they replaced it mine will now spray once before the pressure is to much and the hoze shoots off of the nozzles and sprays your engine with water ( water for me I flushed the whole system with water)

We rolled over 1,500 miles this weekend. Having a lot of fun in the convertible. We're going to drain our windshield fluid, I'm afraid to use it.

We must have friendly Mini owners, we get Mini waves daily. We also have a large number on Mini's running around in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Mrs Jiminni, How was the run this weekend? We considered joining you guys. Your group sounds like you have a lot of fun.

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had. 15 Minis cruizing around Lake Hensley and Bass Lake, then on the Ken & Sandee's for lunch (they have a beautiful custom home in Coarsegold), then floating down the river and playing river vollyball (I am so sore!). My kids came (begrudgingly), but now admit that they had a blast . Gelled some friendships and made some more. We even have a group of Mini owners that go out to the same restaurant every Friday night--we have started joining them, as that is our "date night" anyway. We are having a meeting next Sunday at 1pm at a club member's home--pizza and swimming. If you could get away, I know you would not only be very welcome, but you would have a blast as well.
