I have read this thread from start to finish and I'm so intrigued! I am going to put in a deposit on a 2010 order soon, and hearing about how eager you all were while waiting for your cars to arrive makes me excited for when I finally get mine!! Sorry to hear about some of your quirks post-delivery, but it's super helpful to hear what others are going through. Now I know to drain the washer fluid ASAP! Keep havingfun with your new rides!!

Start to finish? In one sitting? I hope you had some coffee first!

It's good to know our pain was someone else's gain.
I'm having such a great time with this thread. It's nice being able to share similar experiences with nice people who understand.
Make sure to remember my hi tech boot rattle fix in post 825.

Good luck with your order. I'm guessing you have a little time before you place it? Which dealer are you working with? What are the specs of the car going to be?

A piece of masking tape wrapped a couple times around the end of the hook.

It takes up the wiggle room thus removing the possibility of it moving around and hitting the latch.
Pretty hi tech, huh?
Ahhhhh, the sound of silence is soooooo nice!!!

Good for you. Maybe try black electrical tape--might not look so obvious

Yes, I have some time before I place my order because they haven't opened up the 2010s for ordering yet. Hopefully can order by September though! Here's what I'm planning to get (with only minor modifications if they change things for the new model year)...

Chili Red/White
Punch Leather Carbon Black/Dark Gray Color Line
Premium and Convenience Packages
Automatic
Nav System
Sports Suspension
Upgraded Sound System

I think I'm going to call her "Ginger" <aka Ginger Spice> since she'll be a fiesty British red-head.

I had a feeling that would come up...

The only electrical tape I have at the moment is very old and crappy so the masking tape will have to do for now. At least I can hear my stereo now!

MC or MCS? White, or red roof? Nice specs! What area are you from?

Very cool. A friend here at work just ordered a CR/W MCS as well. I'm going to show him how to track his car (read: become insane ).

That looks like an awesome build and I love the name. As a child of the 90s, I LOVED Spice Girls. You'll have to post on the wall once the insanity begins and keep us up to date. I love my Mini, but I do wish that I had been able to afford all of the items that you are getting. Those'll have to wait until my next mini...in about 10 years, lol.

You are going to love your MSC when she arrives. I ordered mine from Niello in Sacramento, but I think you have dealers a lot closer to you than that. Have you looked into doing the tan color line in the interior as well? It really finishes the look of the interior. Click on my "gallery" above and you can see the interior with the two-tone plus color line. I was originally going to go with CR/W and changed to LB/W at the last minute. You never know what the colors are going to be when they come out with the new year, but I think it is a safe bet that they will continue with CR, as it seems to be one of the most popular colors. Good luck, have fun and keep us posted (don't worry if you are not officially week 19--I am officially week 18!)

Ooops--Should have read your specs a little closer. You are doing the color line, but full leather interior. That sounds awesome!

I too am Week 18 so I bounce around between this thread and the Week 17 thread, as does Mrs. Jiminni.

Oh, and RadioFlyer, I saw a Mini Clubman almost identical to yours today. Hers was Nightfire Red with Black Bonnet Stripes. The mother and daughter both waved at my sister and I and I, of course, enthusiastically waved back. My sister was trying to pretend that she didn't exist. It was the first wave I've had in a while.

You tube is so after my time that I don't even know how to do a link, or if there is one. Maybe someone smarter than I could help you.

I was thinking the same thing: Youtube - Sign of the times.
I tried a quick search at youtube but didn't find that exact video. I did find the opening of the 15th Anniversary special. What a hoot!!! I'm at work so I can't link but if you search: SNL Chevy Chase you might find some funny stuff.

How's that little hazardous waste experiment going?

Turning a little brown in the center. I think what it touches, it damages, or kills, but it will be a few more days before I know for sure.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I did/do love the Spice Girls! Lacynpiper, I'm also a Longhorn! I graduated back in '97 though, and moved out to California in '99. I got a 1997 Mustang when I graduated from college. Promptly totalled it and got a new one in 1998. Two payments away from being paid off, it was stolen from me and totalled! I got a sensible but "cute" Saturn coupe that I've been driving ever since. I feel like I've paid my dues to finally "earn" the tricked out MINI I'm getting! I can't wait to order it!

You should look around your area for a Mini Club. We have found life-long friends in our club and try to take "mini runs" once a month. We have found that fun people seem to buy fun cars

Yay! Hook 'Em! I knew that there had to be at least one other UT alum, besides my dad and I, that own, or soon will own, a Mini Cooper. You actually graduated just 2 years before my cousin did. I'm the eighth in my family to go to UT as either a student or a professor. Sounds like you've had some pretty unfortunate luck with cars. You have definitely earned that Mini! Oh, and good luck with the choice of which sticker to use. I literally spent hours at the Co-op debating which sticker to buy and then ended up buying three and finally returning the two rejects. It's a tough decision

BTW, I've only got 375 miles to go before "Lift-off"!!!
I did not get a number either and i just e-mailed the financial lady at my mini dealer and she replied back with my account number supposedly my bill was printed on the first of july

I am soooo happy! I got my bill in the mail yesterday!!!
Seriously, I am a little relieved that I got it. The first one is due the 16th, so I have time to get the auto pay set up. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.

Steelers, where did you get the CROC logo? I joined, but I can only find a source for decals and badges, not for the logo like you use in your sig.

I think I stole it from someone else's sig but you can get it from the first post in the Chili Red Owner's thread here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...part-deux.html

If you get it from the thread you may have to cut out a portion of the logo to get it the way you want it. Make sense?

Hey SteelersFan. Since we both have the factory aero kit, just wanted to warn you that the bottom part of the front bumper is very likely going to get popped off with very little effort just by bumping into a parking curb. I do not even recall hitting one (I have always been very careful), but the other day found the left front side hanging down and it pulled right off. Now to cut off the right side--then maybe go ahead and lower the car? I did not want to lower it just cuz of the front end. Now no longer will be an issue. haha

Do you mean the small black rubbery pieces on either side in front of the wheels? If so, then I've been lucky so far in that I have only folded the left side back on one of the concrete stall stopper thingys parking at work. I didn't even know I was hitting it but noticed a scrape mark on just that side one night at home and realized where it was happening. It straightens itself so no permanent damage yet except for the scratches.

I wonder if Radioflyer's Clubman Aero kit is the same...
