Sounds like a beautiful car! Will need to keep us posted. Once you have a production week, you can start your own thread and get others on board. It really helps with the long wait (mine was 10 weeks between order and pickup) to have others waiting along with you. Are there any major changes? I have not gotten on the "build your mini" website lately.

Yay! I'm glad that you are still around, Penny. Congrats on your order. The wait is truly the hardest part. The break-in was tough too but at least we finally had our cars.

Here's the picture of my Golden Retriever, Piper, in Bonnie. She loves motoring!

Sorry that it's a little fuzzy. My camera is really not the quality that it should be.

That is just too funny! Piper looks like she is right where she belongs. Our Golden, Luke, would never sit still long enough not only to get him in the car, but to actually take a photo and even then, the car would be so full of Golden hair it would be ridiculous. He is relegated to the back of the mini-van and even then he tries to crawl into my lap

Well, Piper is 10 and she's on phenobarbital(for Grand Mal seizures), or however you spell it, 24/7 so she should be a little calmer than most goldens, but she's also buckled into a seatbelt so her maneuverability isn't its best. I also frequently have to remind her that riding in the car is a privilege that can be taken away. She usually behaves after that. In our other cars she bounces all over the place and whines continuously until you roll down the window for her.

Oh, funny story: One time, my Mom was driving her in our Honda Civic. She had just read an article on how bad it was for dogs' ears to let them stick their heads out of car windows and so she was explaining to Piper, in detail, why she was refusing to roll the windows down. In the meantime, Piper figured out how to roll down the window and had rolled it down and stuck her head out the window. My mom turns around sees the window down and has to roll it up and lock it because my precious golden is too smart for her own good. Ok, it loses something in the retelling, but it really was hilarious.

Does Luke think that he is a Chihuahua? Piper's only frame of reference for her size is our now-deceased cat, who weighed all of 8 lbs. She doesn't understand why she isn't allowed in our laps. Post pictures of Luke!

AHHHHHH!!!!! I can't believe we slipped to page 2. We can't let this happen!!! Anyone seen Jimmie? He's probably enjoying his JCW too much. How about TW? What about Santacruzer's? I hope the fire is staying far, far away from them!

Anyway, I'm seriously considering the lumbar support seat mod for the wife's MC and the JCW Stage I kit for me. That's even, right?

Funny story. Dropped my 11 year old off at the bus stop for his first day of school and headed to the post office across town. When I was on my way back home, my son was on the bus headed to school and he says he saw me (we were not even close to home and we live in a large city). My car is unique enough looking that he knew it was me. Can't say that about any other car I have owned . We do not limit the "slug bug" game to VW's. Everyone calls out Mini's as well (red mini, blue mini, etc). Keeps it entertaining .

OK people, I know you are lurking--get back on the bus and let us know how it's going!

We are going on the coolest run this weekend. One of our Mini club members is with the Navy and has set it up so that we can go on base and take photos with our Mini's in front of F18 fighter jets. I think we will get some interesting shots! We will have 20 cars involved in the photo shoot. Will post photos......j.

That sounds awesome!!! Can't wait to see pics! If I wasn't hosting my niece and nephew (6 & 8) I would seriously consider making that drive up to see that!

We have been invited to a birthday party this weekend. Guess who's birthday! MINI's 50th of course. Our dealership is hosting what looks like will be a fun afternoon of food, games, and of course hanging with fellow enthusiasts. Did I mention food? Can't wait!

Hey everyone, We are well and safe. The fire is approximately 4 miles from us (as the crow flies). Lots of smoke. We are very lucky.

Bonnie's doing great. She now has over 2200 miles and is freshly cleaned. She's had a bee stuck in her bonnet, literally, for the past week. Actually she seems to attract a lot of bees. I had to shoot one down last night with the water hose while I was cleaning her.

Mr. and Mrs. Jiminni, Luke is precious! He looks like an absolutely delightful handful. How old is he? Love the story of your son spotting you. I've gotten spotted a few times. One day, my best friend and her parents saw my car in front of a donut shop and later she asked me, "So how were the donuts this morning?" I guess that I no longer have any secrets

Santacruzer, I'm glad to hear that y'all are safe from the fires. Fires are terrifying so I hope and pray that y'all will continue to be safe from the fires.

SteelersFan, did I see you last Thursday? I waved to a guy driving a blue Mini as I turned out of the Ralphs parking lot onto McBean. The driver waved back enthusiastically.

You? Not you?

I don't think so. I haven't driven the blue MC much and I definitely haven't seen you except for the one time on Bouquet. My wife doesn't think it was her either. Sorry...

Glad to hear you got an enthusiastic wave though!

My feeling with Golden's, and this is based completely on my ownership of 1 Golden ever, is that the worse they are as puppies, the better they will be as adults. Piper was awful as a puppy, but she is a wonderful dog. I bet that Luke will be the same way

PS: Piper didn't mature until she was 4, and even now she can be very hyper when she wants to be and she's 10.

It was most definitely *not* your wife. To quote Austin Powers, "That's a man, baby."

And yeah, I'll take the enthusiastic wave. Too many MINI owners in SoCal seem a little too cool for themselves. Oh well, that won't stop me from waving!

LOL Love the Austin Powers!!! "Oh, behave!"
Oh well. I'm sure we'll get a chance to give each other a proper wave!

Piper's been terrified of water her entire life. We've finally convinced her that the water is ok, but it's taken us 10 years. You'll treasure him soon. Plus, Luke is the cutest name ever for a male Golden

Got the tomato juice handy for the dog? Not sure if it works on car upholstery

I have to say that I am impressed with how well my Mini did "off-roading" this past weekend. I drove to my family's old lake house to see what the new owners had done and to see the lake again and ended up driving a road (ok, road is a loose interpretation. It might have once been a very nice smooth gravel slope but now it has ruts and lots of dirt and large rocks) that I never would have attempted in my mom's Honda Civic. Bonnie dug her heels in and said, "Four wheel drive? Who needs it?" I love this car!

Oh, and I love the pictures of the the Mini's with the fighter jet. They look very sleek.

It took a while but my car has a name.

Mr. Zip!

The original Mr. Zip was the mascot for the US Postal Service's rollout of ZIP codes. I modified the logo slightly for my own use - darkened the color of the uniform, changed the delivery bag text, and added MINI logo.

It's nice to have free time on the weekend!

Take care all -

Brad

Very cool logo! I'm glad I'm not the only one doing productive weekend chores. I took my TV and all associated components and wiring apart, cleaned and rewired everything. We're awaiting the arrival of the new PS3 Slim next week. My son is very excited!

Oh yeah, I'm almost up to 3k miles and lovin' every minute!
