Laserspeeder,
Yes I have a VIN and have checked the WW vessels and no luck. I am hoping I mad the Caribbean Hwy that left yesterday the 19th but no information that would confirm or deny. I guess I should be happy it is completed but I would like to know where it is. Thnks for your support. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

If for some reason it didn't make those ships I will have to wait another 5+ days before another ship sails to Charleston. Help I can't take not knowing anything. My MA is out for two weeks and no one will give me any information. Very frustrating.
Ok...ok...deep breaths, deeeeeep breatthhhhhsss... now ::
go here first: (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto and put your VIN into the box .

If it doesn't come up then you either didn't make the Figaro, or... you are on the other shipping line (K-Line). The next W&W vessel to stop at Charleston leaves on 7/27 (the Courage)

Hopefully all goes well at the VDC because my dealership is only and hour or two away at Hassel Mini on Long Island.

I have been carless for almost 2 weeks and am at my wits end relying on my friends and family to shuffle me around!

hey theapple! I'm in the same situation, haven't had a car for 3 weeks and it's killing me! i never thought I'd sell my gas guzzler so quick and for so much money, and never anticipated i'd be without a car for so long! i was bumped from the patriot and i'm on the otello and it's unloading in halifax before arriving in nyc/nj on thursday, looks like i'm still going to be without a car for another 2 weeks!

Carless six weeks today. Mostly carpooling with SWMBO (who is as ready for the car to get here as I am...trust me), or driving my late Father-in-law's 1986 Nissan pickup. It's kind of fun, and I'm happy to have it, but sub-25 MPG gets spendy pretty quick. I'm hoping for late next week.

Aha! I'm familiar with the concept (first came across the line in a series of books about Rumpole of the Bailey back in the early 80s), but never before encountered it as an acronym.

Thanks.

Was patiently waiting but am now going nuts (how many times can you type in a VIN number?!) My MA hasn't kept me updated and have been using the OL and askmini for info. Ordered car the first week of June and just found out that my new sweet ride was born on 07/12 and has been sitting at the port since 07/15. My VIN does not register at WW so I am hoping (like others) that it is on one of the non-WW ships that are scheduled to arrive in Charleston. Does any body have any info about the non-WW ships? Help!

Oh, I didn't hear squat from my MA. I've gotten all my information myself, from ASKMINI, the OL, and now WW's page and sailwx

I know. My MA is MIA. I sent an email when I saw the Patriot arrived and still haven't recieved a reply. My MA claims they enrolled us in that fun while you wait proogram, but we have not gotten anything in the mail. So I feel ignored and lied too. Maybe I am being too sensative.

I think I would have gone to a different dealer if I knew this would be my MA. I ordered from a very enthusiastic MA who it would have been fun to have my wait with, but they aren't at the dealer anymore and I got assigned an MA who seems to not care about our sale. It is a drag. I am over 2 hours from the dealer I ordered my MINI from. There are about 5 other MINI dealerships in the region that I could have gone to, but oh well.

I can't wait to get my hands on my new mini... all I need now is to settle on a name.

So I asked this once before, maybe you all just needed some time to think. Have you decided on a name for your new MINI? If you did, what is the name and why did you choose that name?

Lil Mama,

I share your pain. My Mini was completed the same day and was at the port the same day. We are probably side by side either on the dock waiting or on the K line Caribbean Hwy. My MA has not been helpful either. If you get a status please let me know- I will do the same as mine is goign to Charleston also. Hang in there.

Rumpole it is. I picked up the acronym a good while back trolling around on some motorcycle forums. First time I read it and figured it out I had just gotten a mouthful of coffee...

Don't have a name yet either; in fact, I really hadn't thought about one until I started hanging out at NAM. Does the fact that it is a ClubMAN require a male moniker? Mine is DS w/SS bonnet stripes and roof so I am toying with "McSpeedy" aka "Silver Streak" or maybe "McSweety. What about you?

the "While You Wait" program has been a massive disappointment for me as well. I've seen nothing, and been waiting for 6 weeks so far (Not even an email or anything)...so you guys are not alone.

Good news is though, car will be here before the months end...I guess it frees up a spot next month for dealer

Lightbringer... so I am not alone (he looks like an alien right *cues X-Files theme song*). I heard someone got a cute mouse pad with thier model on it.

lil mama... I had not thought about the fact that ClubMAN might require a male moniker. That opens up so many other avenues for naming. I have been tossing around some names that relate to the color of thecar, but nothing seems right yet. Maybe I need to have it in my arms before I name it. Maybe this will be an easier task if I made a list, lists are good.

Top MINI Name Meanings
1. the color
2. the model
3. a play on the word mini
4. something about speed
5. something British
6. something cute
7. something masculine
8. after a character in a movie or tv show
9. after a real person
10. after Sir Alec Issigonis

** If you have other reasons let me know so I can add them... this might help poeple name thier MINI, or just me, you never know!

So, perhaps less than a week from unload to pickup? Seems fast. Where's your dealer located?

That's great!

I got a call from my MA yesterday to tell me that he was leaving the dealership for another job, and that while my car should be available at the end of next week, he wouldn't be there. Somebody else would be handling the transaction. He didn't know who that would be.

I'm sure that whoever it is will be real enthused about that, unless they get a cut of his commission or something.

It's always something . . . .

Just got off the phone with the lovely Rachel at my dealership (not my MA but more helpful than she ever was!) and my little one is on his way...aboard the Caribbean Highway which set sail on 7/19 and is due in to the Charleston port on 7/31. Can breath again!!! Thanks for all the support, fellow 28 weekers, and good luck to those still waiting! Peace
