All I've gotten while I've been waiting is the Field Guide to Good Motoring, which, if anything, is inaccurate because it says that MINIs like to be dirty! (Maybe some do, but not many of the ones that hang around here!)

As for a name, I have several top contenders but won't settle on one until I meet him (do know it's a boy, though). Top contenders: Nigel, Reg, or Alec (both for Sir Alec Issigonis and Alec Guinness). License plate will be PINT SZ (for which Alec also works due to the pint reference in the plate.

 

My status just changed to En Route so I must have made the Caribbean Hwy. should arrive in Charleston on the 31st. Yippee!

 

MiniUSA took several days to change the status of my car to "En Route" despite my car having boarded Otello and left Southampton. Not to provide false hope, but your car just might be ahead of where you think.

Called the dealer and they said to expect delivery in about a week WOOHOO!!! The Figaro is expected to be in on Saturday!

Got an email from my dealer today asking for help with the fob setup: radio presets, driving lights, pathway lighting, etc. I thought that each fob could be set up independently? So that if my husband wants different radio presets, his fob would activate them?

 

Yeah, I got the same e-mail. Came from MINIUSA, not my dealer, though. I didn't think why they asked for one group of settings when there are two fobs, though. Well, the hell with the wife. She can set her own manually!

 

+1 to that! Let my husband fiddle with his fob!

I have bad news to report: my car did not come on Friday. Or Saturday. Or today. It is LOST somewhere in NJ. My MA told me that he spoke to the distributor this morning and that they assure him that it will be at the dealership tomorrow. If this actually happens (I'm losing faith in this whole process and I am still walking around like a vagrant in the streets of the suburbs), I will be able to take delivery tomorrow night.

Please cross your fingers for me. If this goes on any longer, I'm canceling this whole deal and getting a CIVIC.

The WW site shows my car as having been discharged from the Otello shortly before 11 last night. The WW site does not, however, at this moment reflect that the Otello has set sail from Brunswick to recross the Atlantic.

 

Mine was discharged 7:28 this morning 7/29. Looks like Otello came in late yesterday.... a day earlier than scheduled.

I got the time of discharge for my car from the WW site where you track your car via its VIN. The sailing dates I got from elsewhere on the site.
